6. Cooking Guide
The ZenChef PRO XXL Air Fryer cooks food faster than a conventional oven due to its rapid air technology and quick preheating. For optimal results, refer to the included recipe book for specific cooking times and temperatures. General tips include:
- Do not add oil for most frozen fried foods like French fries or chicken nuggets; they will come out crispy without it.
- For fresh ingredients, a small amount of oil (e.g., 1 tablespoon) can enhance crispiness.
- Shake the basket periodically for even browning and cooking.
- Avoid overcrowding the basket to allow hot air to circulate effectively.
7. Cleaning and Maintenance
Proper cleaning ensures the longevity and performance of your air fryer:
- Always unplug the air fryer and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- The frying basket and basket holder base are dishwasher safe for convenient cleaning.
- For stubborn residue, soak the basket and holder in warm, soapy water for about 10 minutes before cleaning.
- Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scourers, as this may damage the surface.
- Clean the interior of the appliance with a non-abrasive sponge or cloth.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your air fryer, consult the following table:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Air fryer does not turn on. | Appliance not plugged in; basket not inserted correctly. | Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a grounded outlet. Push the basket assembly firmly into the main unit until it clicks. |
| Food is not cooked evenly. | Basket is overcrowded; food not shaken. | Cook smaller batches of food. Shake the basket halfway through cooking. |
| Food is not crispy. | Not enough oil (for fresh ingredients); temperature too low. | For fresh ingredients, lightly coat with oil. Increase cooking temperature slightly. Ensure basket is not overcrowded. |
| White smoke coming from the appliance. | Grease from previous use; fatty ingredients. | Clean the basket and holder thoroughly after each use. For fatty foods, place a small amount of water in the basket holder to prevent smoke. |
