2. Setup

Proper installation of your Force USA Front Half Safeties is crucial for safety and optimal performance. These safeties are designed to fit a rack frame that is 60mm x 60mm with a hole diameter of 15mm, which corresponds to the Force USA MyRack.

Installation Steps:

  1. Identify the desired height for your safeties on your Force USA MyRack uprights. Ensure both safeties are installed at the same height.
  2. Align the safety's pin with the corresponding hole on the MyRack upright.
  3. Slide the safety into the upright until it is fully seated and stable. The integrated pin should pass through the upright's hole.
  4. Repeat for the second safety on the opposite upright.
  5. Verify that both safeties are securely in place and level before use.

Important Safety Note:

If you intend to use these safeties on the front of your MyRack (outside the main frame), it is strongly recommended to bolt the rack down to the ground. This will prevent any movement or tipping during a failed lift, ensuring maximum stability and user safety.

3. Operating Instructions

The Force USA Front Half Safeties are designed to provide a secure catch point for barbells during exercises, significantly reducing the risk of injury from failed lifts. Always ensure the safeties are set to an appropriate height for your exercise and body mechanics.

Usage Guidelines:

  • Height Adjustment: Before beginning your workout, adjust the safeties to a height that will catch the barbell if you fail a lift, but still allow for a full range of motion during the exercise. For squats, this is typically just below your lowest squat position. For bench press, it's usually just above your chest at the bottom of the movement.
  • Barbell Placement: When performing exercises, ensure the barbell is centered over the safeties. In the event of a failed lift, gently lower the barbell onto the safeties. The nylon covers will help protect your barbell's finish and knurling.
  • Load Capacity: While robust, always be mindful of the maximum weight capacity of your MyRack and the safeties. The safeties are rated for a maximum weight capacity of 450 Kilograms.
  • Regular Inspection: Before each use, quickly inspect the safeties for any signs of wear, damage, or loose connections. Do not use if any damage is observed.

4. Maintenance

Regular maintenance will ensure the longevity and continued safe operation of your Force USA Front Half Safeties.

Maintenance Tips:

  • Cleaning: Wipe down the safeties with a damp cloth after use to remove sweat and dust. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish or nylon covers.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the steel structure for any signs of rust, cracks, or deformation. Check the nylon covers for excessive wear or damage.
  • Connection Points: Ensure the safeties remain securely seated in the MyRack uprights. If the rack is bolted down, periodically check the tightness of the bolts.
  • Storage: When not in use, the safeties can be left on the rack or stored in a dry environment to prevent corrosion.

5. Troubleshooting

Most issues with the Force USA Front Half Safeties can be resolved with simple checks.

Common Issues and Solutions:

  • Safeties feel loose or wobbly:
Solution: Ensure the safeties are fully inserted into the MyRack uprights and the pin is correctly engaged. Verify that your MyRack itself is stable and, if applicable, properly bolted to the ground.
  • Barbell slipping or damaging safeties:
Solution: Check the condition of the nylon covers. If they are severely worn or damaged, contact Force USA support for replacement parts. Ensure the barbell is lowered gently onto the safeties.
  • Difficulty inserting/removing safeties:
Solution: Ensure the holes on the MyRack uprights are clear of debris. A small amount of silicone spray can be applied to the pin for smoother insertion, but avoid lubricants that attract dust.
