- The filter must be installed upright.
- Be sure the water flow direction marked on the valve body is the same as the direction of water flow within the pipeline.
- The installation location must provide reliable drainage.
- The frequency that the filter screen will need to be flushed will depend on the quality of the water passing through the screen.
- It may be necessary to flush the filter screen at least once every week.

Setup and Installation
Follow these steps for proper installation of your iSpring WSP50GR filter. It is recommended to install the filter on the cold water line before any water heaters or softeners.
Step 1: Shut Off Water Supply
Shut off the main water line to your house. Open the nearest faucet to drain out water and release any pressure from the pipes. This ensures safety and prevents water spills during installation.

Step 2: Prepare Installation Location
Find a suitable location for the filter on your cold water line. Measure and cut the water inlet pipe where the filter will be installed. Use a bucket to catch any remaining water from the pipe after cutting.
Step 3: Apply Plumber's Tape and Connectors
Apply plumber's tape evenly on the machine head threads. Screw the connectors to these threads. Use a wrench to tighten the connectors securely, ensuring no leaks.

Step 4: Mount Bracket and Install Filter
Mount the provided bracket securely on the wall. Install the filter to the pipeline, ensuring the water flow direction arrow on the machine head matches the direction of water flow within your pipeline.

Step 5: Drain Line Assembly (WSP-GR Series)
For the WSP-GR series, connect the drain hose (not included) to the drain connector at the bottom of the filter. The WSP-GR series uses 1/4" OD tubing for the drain line.
Step 6: Connect Drain Hose to Drain Pipe/Hole
Connect or insert the drain hose from the filter to a suitable drain pipe or drain hole. Ensure the drain location can handle the flushed water.
Step 7: Turn On Water and Check for Leaks
Slowly turn on the main water line. Carefully check for any leaks around the connections and ensure the filter is working properly. Address any leaks immediately by tightening connections.
Operating the Filter
Once installed, the iSpring WSP50GR filter operates continuously, filtering sediment from your incoming water supply. The transparent housing allows for visual inspection of the filter mesh, so you can easily see when flushing is needed.

Maintenance and Filter Replacement
Manual Flushing
To ensure optimal filter performance, it is recommended to flush the filter at least once per week. Ensure the drain pipe or drain hole is not blocked or clogged before flushing.
- To flush, simply turn the drain valve switch to the vertical position.
- Allow the water to drain for a few seconds until it runs clear.
- Turn the drain valve switch back to the horizontal position to shut off the drain valve when finished.

Filter Cartridge Cleaning/Replacement
The stainless steel mesh filter cartridge is reusable and can be cleaned. If the filter becomes heavily clogged or damaged, it may need replacement.
- Shut off the main water line and open the nearest faucet to drain water and release pressure.
- Drain out any remaining water inside the filter by turning the drain valve switch to the vertical position.
- Remove the drain hose from the drain connector.
- Unscrew the filter housing counter-clockwise using the included housing wrench. Use a bucket to catch any remaining water.
- Remove the filter cartridge from the housing. Clean it with a brush and/or soak it in vinegar to remove stubborn deposits.
- After cleaning, reinstall the cartridge into the filter housing.
- Carefully line up the filter housing with the machine head and turn it clockwise to screw it on. Tighten it with the housing wrench.
- Reinstall the drain hose to the drain connector.
- Turn on the main water line and check for any leaks.

Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your iSpring WSP50GR filter, consider the following:
- Low Water Pressure: This is often caused by a clogged filter screen. Perform a manual flush as described in the Maintenance section. If pressure remains low, remove and clean the filter cartridge thoroughly.
- Leaks: Check all connections for tightness. Ensure plumber's tape was applied correctly and that O-rings are properly seated and not damaged. Replace O-rings if necessary.
- No Water Flow: Verify that the main water supply is fully open and that the filter's inlet/outlet connections are not obstructed. Ensure the drain valve is fully closed after flushing.
