Setup

1. Charging Your Device

Before first use, fully charge your Kindle Paperwhite. Connect the included USB 2.0 charging cable to the device and to a computer or a 5W USB power adapter (sold separately). A full charge takes approximately 4 hours via computer or less than 3 hours with a 5W USB power adapter.

2. Initial Setup and Wi-Fi Connection

Upon powering on, follow the on-screen instructions to select your language, connect to a Wi-Fi network, and register your device to an Amazon account. Wi-Fi connectivity supports 802.11b, 802.11g, or 802.11n standards with WEP, WPA, and WPA2 security.

Operating Instructions

1. Reading on Your Kindle

The 6-inch Paperwhite display offers a 300 ppi glare-free experience with a flush-front design. Tap the right side of the screen to turn pages forward, and the left side to turn pages backward. Adjust font size, font face, line spacing, and margins through the reading menu.

2. Adjusting the Built-in Light

The adjustable built-in light allows for comfortable reading in various lighting conditions. Access the light settings from the top menu bar during reading to increase or decrease brightness.

3. Waterproof Features

The Kindle Paperwhite is waterproof (IPX8 rated), designed to withstand accidental immersion in 2 meters of fresh water for up to 60 minutes. This allows for reading by the pool, at the beach, or in the bath.

4. Audible Integration
