Performing a Blood Glucose Test

The HealthPro Glucose Monitoring System provides accurate results in just 5 seconds with a tiny blood sample (0.5 µL). Follow these three easy steps:

Three easy steps to use the HealthPro glucose meter

  1. Step 1: Prepare the Meter and Test Strip

Insert a new test strip into the meter. The meter will automatically turn on. Ensure the meter displays the correct date and time. The meter is designed for no coding, simplifying the testing process.

  2. Step 2: Obtain a Blood Sample

Clean the chosen test site (fingertip, forearm, or palm for Alternate Site Testing) with an alcohol swab and allow it to air dry. Press the prepared lancing device firmly against the skin and activate it to create a small drop of blood. Gently squeeze the area around the puncture site to form a round drop of blood.

Touch the tip of the test strip to the blood drop. The strip will draw the blood in automatically. The meter will begin counting down.

  3. Step 3: Read Your Results

After 5 seconds, your blood glucose result will appear on the meter's backlit screen. The meter automatically stores this result in its 365 test memory. You can also use the meal settings feature to categorize your result.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Meter

To clean your HealthPro Glucose Monitor:

  • Wipe the exterior of the meter with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Do not immerse the meter in water or any cleaning solution.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

Storage

Store the meter, test strips, and lancets in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Keep all components in their original containers until ready for use.

Control Solution Testing

Control solution testing verifies the accuracy of your meter and test strips. It is recommended to perform a control solution test:

  • When opening a new vial of test strips.
  • If you suspect the meter or test strips are not working correctly.
  • If your test results do not match how you feel.

Refer to the control solution instructions for specific testing procedures.
