2. Product Components
Your package should contain the following items:
- Electronic Digital Scale (100g capacity, 0.001g accuracy)
- Disc Sampler (100cm² cutting area, 0-2mm cutting thickness)
- Rubber Pad (6mm thickness)
- Double-edged Blades (pre-installed in sampler, replaceable)
- Calibration Weight (e.g., 200g, for scale calibration)
- Power Adapter (110V compatible)

3. Setup Instructions
3.1 Electronic Scale Setup
- Placement: Place the electronic scale on a stable, level, and vibration-free surface. Avoid areas with drafts or direct sunlight.
- Power Connection: Connect the provided power adapter to the scale and plug it into a standard 110V electrical outlet.
- Initial Power On: Press the 'ON/OFF' button to power on the scale. Allow a few moments for the display to stabilize.
- Calibration (Recommended): For optimal accuracy, calibrate the scale using the provided calibration weight. Refer to the scale's specific calibration procedure, usually involving a 'CAL' button and placing the weight on the pan when prompted.

3.2 Disc Sampler Setup
- Blade Inspection: Ensure the double-edged blades are securely installed and sharp. Handle with extreme care.
- Rubber Pad Placement: Place the 6mm thick rubber pad on a flat, sturdy surface where you intend to use the sampler. This pad protects the blades and provides a stable cutting base.

4. Operating Instructions: Measuring GSM
Follow these steps to accurately measure the Grams per Square Meter (GSM) of your material:
- Prepare the Material: Lay the fabric, paper, or non-woven material flat and smooth on the rubber pad.
- Position the Sampler: Place the disc sampler over the material, ensuring the area to be cut is free from wrinkles or imperfections.
- Unlock the Sampler: Pull out the switch protection bolt on the side of the sampler, rotate it 90 degrees, and lock it into position. This exposes the blades for cutting.
- Cut the Sample: Hold the sampler firmly with one hand. With the other hand, press down on the plastic handle and rotate it 1-2 circles. This action cuts a precise 100cm² circular sample.
- Retrieve the Sample: Carefully remove the sampler and retrieve the cut 100cm² sample.
- Weigh the Sample: Place the cut 100cm² sample onto the center of the electronic scale's weighing pan. Allow the reading to stabilize.
- Calculate GSM: The scale displays the weight of the 100cm² sample in grams. To obtain the GSM value, multiply the displayed weight by 100. For example, if the scale reads 0.85g, the GSM is 0.85 * 100 = 85 GSM.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
- Wipe the scale and sampler with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse in water.
- Keep the weighing pan and surrounding area clean to prevent interference with readings.
5.2 Blade Replacement
- The double-edged blades in the sampler are consumable and will dull over time. Replace them when cutting becomes difficult or results in frayed edges.
- To replace, carefully unscrew the blade holders and insert new blades. Always handle blades with extreme caution.
5.3 Rubber Pad
- The rubber pad may develop an odor during transportation. Place it in a well-ventilated area before use to dissipate any smell.
- Replace the rubber pad if it becomes excessively worn or damaged, as this can affect cutting quality.
5.4 Storage
- Store the scale and sampler in a dry, stable environment, away from extreme temperatures, humidity, and direct sunlight.
- Keep the protective cover on the scale when not in use to prevent dust accumulation.

6. Troubleshooting
- Inaccurate Readings:
- Ensure the scale is on a stable, level surface.
- Check for drafts or vibrations in the environment.
- Recalibrate the scale using the calibration weight.
- Ensure the weighing pan is clean and free of debris.
- Sampler Not Cutting Cleanly:
- Check if the blades are dull and require replacement.
- Ensure the rubber pad is not excessively worn or damaged.
- Verify the sampler is pressed down firmly and rotated completely.
- Scale Not Turning On:
- Check the power adapter connection to both the scale and the electrical outlet.
- Ensure the power outlet is functional.
