8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your SERCOMM RC8230D camera, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Camera not powering on | Power adapter not connected or faulty outlet. | Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to the camera and a working electrical outlet. Try a different outlet. |
| Cannot connect to Wi-Fi | Incorrect Wi-Fi password, camera too far from router, or 5GHz network selected. | Verify Wi-Fi password. Move camera closer to the router. Ensure your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz network and you are connecting to it. |
| Live view is choppy or lags | Weak Wi-Fi signal or network congestion. | Improve Wi-Fi signal strength by moving the camera closer to the router or using a Wi-Fi extender. Reduce other network activity. |
| Pan/Tilt movement is slow or unresponsive | Network latency or internal mechanism issue. | Check network connection stability. Perform a power cycle on the camera. If the issue persists, contact Sercomm support. |
| No motion detection alerts | Motion detection not enabled or sensitivity too low in app settings. | Go to the camera settings in the Sercomm app and ensure motion detection is enabled and sensitivity is adjusted appropriately. Check notification settings on your phone. |
