Safety Information

Always observe the following safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury.

  • Electrical Safety: Ensure the dispenser is plugged into a grounded outlet. Do not use extension cords. Disconnect power before cleaning or servicing.
  • Hot Water Safety: The hot water dispenser reaches high temperatures. Use caution when dispensing hot water. The unit is equipped with a child safety lock for the hot water spout.
  • Placement: Place the dispenser on a firm, level surface. Keep it away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
  • Water Bottle: Use only 3 or 5-gallon water bottles designed for water dispensers. Do not operate the dispenser without a water bottle installed.
  • Cleaning: Do not immerse the dispenser in water. Clean only with a damp cloth as instructed in the maintenance section.

Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the dispenser from its packaging. Inspect for any damage.
  2. Placement: Position the dispenser upright on a flat, stable surface. Allow at least 4 inches of clearance from walls for proper ventilation.
  3. Loading Water Bottle:
    • Open the bottom door of the dispenser.
    • Remove the cap from a new 3 or 5-gallon water bottle.
    • Insert the probe into the bottle opening.
    • Slide the bottle into the cabinet and close the door.

  4. Initial Flush: Before first use, dispense and discard at least 1 liter of water from each spout (cold, cool, hot) to flush the system.
  5. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. The indicator lights will illuminate. Allow approximately 1 hour for the water to reach optimal temperatures.

Operating Instructions

Your Primo water dispenser offers three temperature options: ice-cold, cool, and piping-hot water.

  • Dispensing Cold Water: Place your cup under the cold water spout (typically blue indicator). Press the cold water button to dispense. The water cools to approximately 39.2 degrees Fahrenheit (4 degrees Celsius).

  • Dispensing Cool Water: Place your cup under the cool water spout (typically green indicator). Press the cool water button to dispense.
  • Dispensing Hot Water: Place your cup under the hot water spout (typically red indicator). To dispense hot water, first push the child safety lock button, then press the hot water button. The water heats to at least 188.5 degrees Fahrenheit (87 degrees Celsius).

  • Pet Hydration: The dispenser can also be used to fill pet bowls with cool water.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your water dispenser.

  • Cleaning the Exterior: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Cleaning the Drip Tray: The stainless steel drip tray is removable and dishwasher-safe. Empty and clean it regularly to prevent overflow and bacterial growth.
  • Descaling: Over time, mineral deposits may accumulate. Consult the manufacturer's website or customer support for recommended descaling procedures.
  • Replacing Water Bottle: When the water bottle is empty, the indicator light will signal. Replace the bottle following the "Loading Water Bottle" steps in the Setup section.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your dispenser, refer to the following common problems and solutions.
