Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the UpStart Components Replacement Remote Control, designed for use with VIZIO TV models M70-C3 and XRT500. This remote control offers functionality similar to the original remote, ensuring a seamless user experience. It is a direct replacement and does not require programming.

Setup

Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
2. Slide the battery compartment cover downwards to open it.
3. Insert two (2) AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
4. Slide the battery compartment cover back into place until it clicks securely.

The remote control is now ready for use. No programming is required.

Operating Instructions

This remote control features a dual-sided design, with standard TV controls on one side and a full QWERTY keyboard on the other for easier text input.

Front Side: TV Controls

• Power Button: Turns the VIZIO TV on or off.

• Channel (CH) Buttons: Changes the television channel.
• Navigation Pad (Up, Down, Left, Right, OK): Used to navigate menus and select options.
• Back Button: Returns to the previous menu or screen.
• Menu Button: Accesses the TV's main menu.
• Dedicated App Buttons: Provides quick access to specific streaming applications (e.g., Amazon, Netflix).

Back Side: QWERTY Keyboard

The QWERTY keyboard is ideal for entering text in search fields, web browsers, or login screens on your VIZIO Smart TV. Simply flip the remote to this side when text input is required.

• Alphanumeric Keys: Standard letters and numbers for typing.
• Shift/Caps Lock: For uppercase letters and alternative characters.
• Space Bar: Inserts a space.
• Enter Key: Confirms input or selection.
• DEL Key: Deletes characters.
• Navigation Arrows: For cursor movement within text fields.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To clean the remote control, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as these may damage the surface or internal components.

Battery Replacement

If the remote control's performance degrades or it stops responding, replace the batteries. Follow the "Battery Installation" steps in the Setup section to replace the two (2) AAA batteries.

Troubleshooting

• Remote not responding:
  • Ensure fresh AAA batteries are correctly installed.
  • Check for any obstructions between the remote and the TV's infrared sensor.
  • Verify that the TV is powered on.
