Setup

1. Battery Installation

The remote control requires two (2) AAA batteries (not included) for operation.

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
  2. Slide the cover downwards or press the latch (if present) to open the compartment.
  3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover, sliding it back into place until it clicks securely.

2. Initial Use

This replacement remote control is designed for immediate use with compatible VIZIO TVs. No programming or pairing is required. Once batteries are installed, the remote is ready to operate your television.

Operating Instructions

Familiarize yourself with the buttons on both sides of the remote control for optimal use.

Front Side (TV Control)

  • Power Button (●): Turns the TV on or off.
  • INPUT: Cycles through available input sources (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, AV, etc.).
  • Amazon, NETFLIX, MGO: Direct access buttons for these streaming applications.
  • Navigation Pad (Up, Down, Left, Right, OK): Used to navigate menus and select options.
  • VOL (+/-): Adjusts the volume level.
  • CH (+/-): Changes the television channel.
  • Mute (🔇): Mutes or unmutes the TV audio.
  • MENU: Opens the TV's main menu.
  • EXIT: Closes the current menu or screen.
  • BACK: Returns to the previous screen or menu.
  • GUIDE: Displays the program guide (if available).
  • Number Pad (0-9): Directly enters channel numbers.
  • ENTER: Confirms selections or enters channel numbers.
  • Playback Controls (Rewind, Play/Pause, Fast Forward, Stop, Record): Controls media playback.
  • CC (Closed Caption): Toggles closed captions on or off.
  • INFO: Displays information about the current program or input.
  • PIC (Picture Mode): Cycles through picture modes.

Back Side (QWERTY Keyboard)

To use the QWERTY keyboard, flip the remote over. The TV screen should automatically recognize the keyboard input when text entry is required (e.g., in search bars or login fields).

  • Alphanumeric Keys: Standard letters and numbers for text input.
  • Shift / Caps Shift: Toggles uppercase letters or accesses secondary characters.
  • Alt: Accesses alternative characters or functions.
  • Space: Inserts a space.
  • Enter: Confirms text input or selection.
  • DEL: Deletes the character to the left of the cursor.
  • Arrow Keys: For navigation within text fields or menus.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement

Replace batteries when the remote's responsiveness decreases or it stops functioning. Always replace both batteries simultaneously with new AAA batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.

Cleaning

To clean the remote control, gently wipe its surface with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or excessive moisture, as these can damage the remote.

Troubleshooting

  • Remote not responding:
    • Ensure batteries are inserted correctly with the correct polarity (+/-).
    • Replace old batteries with new ones.
    • Check for any obstructions between the remote and the TV's infrared sensor.
    • Ensure the TV is powered on.
  • Buttons are unresponsive or sticky:
    • Clean the remote control as described in the Maintenance section.
    • If the issue persists after cleaning and battery replacement, the remote may require replacement.
  • Keyboard not working:
    • Ensure the remote is flipped to the keyboard side.
    • Verify that the TV application or menu you are using supports keyboard input.
    • Check batteries.
