5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation and Charging

  1. Drone Battery: Insert the rechargeable battery into the drone's battery compartment until it clicks into place.
  2. Charging: Connect the drone battery to the USB charging cable, then plug the USB cable into a USB power source (e.g., computer, USB wall adapter). The indicator light on the USB cable will show charging status. Charge time is approximately 60-90 minutes.
  3. Controller Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the back of the remote controller and insert 3 x AA batteries (not included), observing correct polarity. Close the compartment.

5.2 Propeller Guard Installation

Attach the four propeller guards to the drone's arms by snapping them into the designated slots. This provides protection during collisions.

5.3 Folding/Unfolding the Drone

To unfold the drone, gently extend each arm outwards until it locks into position. To fold, press the release mechanism (if present) or gently fold the arms inwards until they are compact.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Pairing the Drone and Controller

  1. Place the drone on a flat, level surface.
  2. Turn on the drone. The LED lights will flash.
  3. Turn on the remote controller.
  4. Push the left joystick (throttle) all the way up, then all the way down. The drone's LED lights will stop flashing and become solid, indicating successful pairing.

6.2 Gyro Calibration

After pairing, perform a gyro calibration for stable flight. Push both joysticks down and to the right simultaneously. The drone's lights will flash rapidly and then become solid, indicating calibration is complete.

6.3 Taking Off and Landing

  • Manual Takeoff: Push both joysticks down and outwards to start the propellers. Then, slowly push the left joystick (throttle) up to ascend.
  • One-Key Takeoff/Landing: Press the dedicated One-Key Takeoff/Landing button (often indicated by an arrow pointing up/down) on the controller. The drone will automatically take off and hover, or land gently.
  • Manual Landing: Slowly pull the left joystick (throttle) down until the drone lands. Once on the ground, hold the joystick down for a few seconds until the propellers stop.

6.4 Basic Flight Controls

  • Left Joystick:
    • Up/Down: Ascend/Descend (Throttle)
    • Left/Right: Rotate Left/Right (Yaw)
  • Right Joystick:
    • Up/Down: Fly Forward/Backward
    • Left/Right: Fly Left/Right (Sideways)

6.5 Advanced Features

  • Altitude Hold: The drone will automatically maintain its current altitude, making it easier to control horizontal movement.
  • Headless Mode: When activated, the drone will fly in the direction relative to the pilot, regardless of the drone's actual front orientation. Press the Headless Mode button to activate/deactivate.
  • One-Key Return: Press the One-Key Return button, and the drone will attempt to fly back towards its takeoff point. Note: This feature is not GPS-based and its accuracy depends on initial calibration and environmental factors.
  • 360° Flip: Fly the drone to a height of at least 2 meters. Press the 360° Flip button, then push the right joystick in the desired flip direction (forward, backward, left, or right).
  • Speed Switch: Press the Speed Switch button to cycle through different speed modes (e.g., low, medium, high). This is useful for adapting to different flying environments and skill levels.
