SZBJ Wireless IR Repeater Kit / Remote Control Extender

1. Introduction

The SZBJ Wireless IR Repeater Kit allows you to control infrared (IR) remote-controlled devices from a distance, even when the devices are out of sight or in another room. This system operates on a 433.92MHz frequency, minimizing interference from Wi-Fi signals. It is designed for use with various audio and video equipment such as A/V receivers, DVD/Blu-ray players, and satellite receivers.

The system consists of a transmitter block and a receiver block, which work in conjunction to relay IR signals. The indoor transmission distance is up to 50 meters, and outdoor transmission can reach up to 300 meters. Actual performance may vary based on environmental factors and building construction.

2. Package Contents

Please verify that all items listed below are included in your package:

• 1 x Transmitter Block
• 1 x Receiver Block
• 1 x Single Head Emitter Cable
• 1 x IR Receiver Cable
• 2 x USB to DC Power Lines

Note: Power supply adapters are not included and must be provided separately (DC 5V).

3. Product Overview

The system comprises two main units: a Transmitter Block and a Receiver Block. Each block features an antenna for wireless communication, a DC 5V power input, and ports for connecting IR components.

The Receiver Block has a 'Receiver' port for the IR receiver cable and an 'Emitter' port for the IR emitter cable. The Transmitter Block has an integrated IR receiver and a port for the emitter cable.

4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to correctly set up your Wireless IR Repeater Kit:

4.1 Connecting the Receiver Block

1. Connect one of the USB to DC 5V power lines to the 'DC 5V' port on the Receiver Block.
2. Connect the IR Receiver Cable to the 'Receiver' port on the Receiver Block.
3. Connect the Single Head Emitter Cable to the 'Emitter' port on the Receiver Block.
4. Position the Receiver Block near your TV or display in the room where you will be using your remote control. Ensure the IR Receiver Cable is placed in a location convenient for receiving signals from your remote.
5. Carefully peel off the adhesive backing from the IR emitter on the Single Head Emitter Cable and attach it directly over the IR sensor window of the device you wish to control (e.g., a set-top box, DVD player). Ensure the emitter is accurately placed for optimal signal transmission.

4.2 Connecting the Transmitter Block

1. Connect the second USB to DC 5V power line to the 'DC 5V' port on the Transmitter Block.
2. The Transmitter Block has an integrated IR receiver. Position this block in the room where your remote-controlled device is located.

4.3 System Placement and Operation

The Receiver Block should be placed in the room where you use your remote control. The Emitter Cable from the Receiver Block should be connected to the device you want to control (e.g., TV box). The Transmitter Block should be placed in another room, where it will receive the IR signal from your remote and wirelessly transmit it to the Receiver Block.

5. Operating Instructions

Once both the Transmitter and Receiver Blocks are powered and connected as described in the setup section:

1. Point your remote control at the IR Receiver Cable connected to the Receiver Block.
2. The Receiver Block will capture the IR signal and wirelessly transmit it to the Transmitter Block.
3. The Transmitter Block will then re-emit the IR signal via its emitter cable to your target device (e.g., TV box, DVD player).

This allows you to control your devices as if you were in the same room, without direct line-of-sight to the device itself.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your IR Repeater Kit, consider the following:

• No Signal or Intermittent Control:
  Ensure the IR emitter is precisely aligned with the IR sensor window of your device. Incorrect placement is a common cause of signal issues. Only one emitter should be attached to a single device to avoid interference.
• Interference:
  The wireless infrared repeater's antenna should be positioned at an optimal distance (e.g., 30-40 cm) from other wireless equipment to prevent signal interference.
• Receiver Placement:
  Avoid attaching the IR receiver directly to the frame of a TV screen. The fluorescence from some TV screens can interfere with the infrared signal, leading to poor performance.
• Power Supply:
  Verify that both the Transmitter and Receiver Blocks are receiving stable DC 5V power.
• Bluetooth Devices:
  This product is designed for IR signals only and will not control Bluetooth-enabled home appliances.
