2. Safety Information

- Do not leave the vacuum unattended when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before servicing.

- Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run vacuum over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.

- Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present.

3. Setup and Assembly
Your DEWALT DXV14P vacuum comes partially assembled. Follow these steps for complete setup:
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify all included accessories are present as listed in Section 7.
- Caster and Wheel Assembly: Attach the heavy-duty swiveling casters to the front and the large rear wheels to the back of the vacuum base. Ensure they are securely fastened for optimal mobility.
- Handle Assembly: Insert the transport handle into its designated slots on the vacuum. It should click into place securely. This handle can be easily removed by pressing the two side buttons.
- Hose Connection: Connect the 2-1/2 inch x 7 ft hose to the quick-connect locking vacuum port on the front of the unit. Twist to secure the connection.
- Accessory Bag: Attach the accessory bag to the rear of the vacuum for convenient storage of nozzles and wands.

4. Operating Instructions
The DEWALT DXV14P is designed for both wet and dry vacuuming, as well as a blower function.
4.1 Dry Vacuuming
- Ensure the cartridge filter is properly installed for dry debris collection. A disposable dust bag can also be used for easier disposal of dry materials.
- Attach the desired nozzle (e.g., floor nozzle, utility nozzle, crevice nozzle) to the end of the hose or extension wands.
- Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
- Turn the large on/off switch to the 'ON' position to begin vacuuming.
4.2 Wet Vacuuming
- Remove the disposable dust bag if one is installed. The cartridge filter can remain for wet pickup, but it is recommended to clean it thoroughly after wet use.
- Do not use a foam filter for wet pickup.
- Attach a suitable wet pickup accessory.
- The vacuum features a built-in tank drain for convenient emptying of liquids. Simply remove the drain cap located at the bottom of the tank to drain collected liquids.
- The vacuum is equipped with buoy technology; when the water level exceeds a critical point, it will automatically power off to prevent overflow.
4.3 Blower Function
- To use as a blower, detach the hose from the vacuum port and connect it to the blower port located on the motor head.
- Turn the vacuum 'ON' to use it for clearing sawdust, leaves, or other light debris.
