Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to properly install the XTRONS CAMDCV02 Reversing Camera Decoder Box:
- Connect the OEM VW Plug: The standard Volkswagen factory camera plug connects directly into the female receiver of the CAMDCV02 decoder box.
- Connect to XTRONS Head Unit: The decoder box then connects to the "CAM-In" RCA port on your XTRONS head unit.
- Power Connection: Connect the yellow wire to a 12V DC power source (e.g., accessory power) and the black wire to ground (-).
- Reverse Light Connection: Connect the red wire to the reverse light signal (+). This signal triggers the head unit to display the camera feed when the vehicle is put into reverse.

Operation
Once correctly installed, the XTRONS CAMDCV02 will automatically activate the reversing camera display on your XTRONS head unit when the vehicle's reverse gear is engaged. The image from the OEM factory camera will be shown on the head unit screen.
Troubleshooting
- No Camera Display:
- Ensure all connections (OEM plug, RCA to head unit, power, ground, reverse light) are secure and correctly wired.
- Verify that your XTRONS head unit has a "CAM-In" RCA port and is configured to accept camera input.
- Check the reverse light signal connection.
- Black and White Image:
- If the original camera displayed in color and the new setup shows black and white, this may indicate a defective decoder unit. Contact XTRONS support for assistance.
- Intermittent Display:
- Check for loose connections or damaged wiring.
- Ensure stable power supply to the decoder box.
