2. Safety Information

4. Setup and Installation
The Quicktec Large Gun Safe-Digital is designed for easy installation. It features pre-punched holes for secure mounting to a wall or floor. Proper installation is crucial for security.
4.1. Unpacking and Initial Inspection
- Carefully remove the safe from its packaging.
- Inspect the safe for any signs of damage during transit. Contact customer support immediately if damage is found.
- Locate all included accessories as listed in Section 3.
4.2. Battery Installation
- Open the battery compartment on the back of the digital keypad.
- Insert the 4 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
- Close the battery compartment securely.
4.3. Mounting the Safe
For optimal security, the safe must be anchored to a solid surface.
- Choose a suitable location for the safe, such as a closet or behind a door, ensuring it is out of sight and securely placed.
- Mark the drilling points through the pre-punched holes on the back and/or bottom of the safe onto the wall or floor.
- Drill pilot holes at the marked locations.
- Align the safe with the drilled holes and insert the mounting bolts.
- Tighten the bolts securely to firmly attach the safe to the surface.

5. Operating Instructions
Your Quicktec gun safe offers multiple methods for access: digital code, biometric fingerprint, and emergency key.
5.1. Setting Your Digital Passcode
- With the safe door open, press the red reset button located on the inside of the door.
- Enter your desired 3-8 digit code on the keypad.
- Press the '#' button to confirm. The safe will beep to indicate successful programming.
5.2. Registering Fingerprints
The biometric system can store up to 125 fingerprints.
- With the safe door open, press the green fingerprint registration button (usually near the reset button).
- Place your finger on the scanner. The safe will prompt you to lift and place your finger multiple times for a complete scan.
- Repeat for additional fingers or users.

5.3. Opening the Safe
There are three primary methods to open the safe:
- Digital Passcode: Enter your programmed 3-8 digit code, then press '#'. Turn the handle to open.
- Biometric Fingerprint: Place your registered finger on the scanner. Once recognized, turn the handle to open.
- Emergency Key: If batteries are dead or the digital system fails, remove the cover over the emergency keyhole, insert the emergency key, and turn it while simultaneously turning the handle.

5.4. Internal Lockbox
The safe includes a separate internal lockbox for smaller valuables or handguns. This lockbox is secured with its own key.

6. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and proper functioning of your safe, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.
- Battery Replacement: Replace the AA batteries annually or when the low voltage notification activates. Always use new, high-quality alkaline batteries.
- Lock Mechanism: Do not lubricate the lock mechanism unless specifically instructed by Quicktec customer support.
- Interior: Keep the interior dry and free of moisture to prevent damage to stored items.
