4. Setup

4.1 Attaching the Nozzle

  1. Align the round nozzle with the blower tube outlet.
  2. Push the nozzle firmly onto the tube until it clicks into place, ensuring a secure fit.

4.2 Connecting the Battery

The Stihl BGA 100 is designed for use with an external battery pack (e.g., Stihl AP 300 S or AR 3000) connected via a flexible cord.

  1. Ensure the blower is switched off.
  2. Connect the power cord from the external battery pack to the designated port on the blower handle. Ensure the connection is firm and secure.
  3. If using a belt-mounted battery, ensure the battery is securely fastened to your belt or harness.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Starting and Stopping

  1. Ensure the battery is connected and charged.
  2. Press the main power button on the handle to activate the blower.
  3. To stop, release the trigger or press the main power button again.

5.2 Power Modes

The BGA 100 features three power levels and an additional Boost function for maximum performance.

  • Level 1: For light debris and extended runtime.
  • Level 2: For general clearing tasks.
  • Level 3: For heavier debris and more demanding tasks.
  • Boost Function: Press and hold the Boost button for a temporary surge of maximum power. Release to return to the selected power level.

Adjust power levels using the control switch on the handle.

5.3 Adjusting Blowing Tube Length

The blowing tube length can be continuously adjusted to suit your height and task requirements. Loosen the locking mechanism, extend or retract the tube to the desired length, and then secure the locking mechanism firmly.

5.4 Operating Tips

  • Use a sweeping motion to move debris efficiently.
  • Start with lower power settings for lighter debris and increase as needed.
  • For prolonged work intervals, using a recommended battery like the Stihl AR 3000 with padding and hook is advised for comfort.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Blower

  • After each use, disconnect the battery.
  • Clean the exterior of the blower with a damp cloth. Do not use strong detergents or solvents.
  • Ensure air intake and exhaust vents are free from debris to prevent overheating.

6.2 Battery Care

  • Always use the recommended Stihl charger for your battery.
  • Store batteries in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Do not store fully discharged batteries for extended periods. Charge them periodically.
