1. Product Overview
The Motorola Moto Z3 Play is a versatile smartphone featuring a 6-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a Max Vision 18:9 aspect ratio. 2. What's in the Box
Upon unboxing your Moto Z3 Play, verify that all the following items are included:

3. Setup
3.1. SIM Card Installation
The Moto Z3 Play uses a Nano SIM card. To install, locate the SIM tray on the side of the device. Use the SIM ejector tool (not included, but often found with your carrier's SIM card) to open the tray. Place your Nano SIM card into the tray with the gold contacts facing down, ensuring it is correctly oriented. Carefully reinsert the tray into the phone.
3.2. Powering On and Off
- To Power On: Press and hold the Power button (located on the left side of the phone) until the Motorola logo appears.
- To Power Off: Press and hold the Power button until the power options appear on the screen, then select 'Power off'.
3.3. Initial Setup Wizard
The first time you power on your device, you will be guided through an initial setup process. This includes selecting your language, connecting to a Wi-Fi network, signing in with your Google account, and setting up security features like fingerprint recognition.
3.4. Attaching Moto Mods
Moto Mods are interchangeable backs that snap onto your smartphone using powerful magnets. To attach a Moto Mod, align the Mod with the back of your phone and gently snap it into place. Ensure the Mod is securely connected. The included Moto Power Pack can be attached this way to extend battery life.

4. Operating Your Device
4.1. Display and Navigation
The 6-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display provides vibrant colors and deep blacks. Navigation is primarily touch-based, with on-screen buttons for Home, Back, and Recent Apps. The Max Vision 18:9 aspect ratio offers an immersive viewing experience.

4.2. Cameras
The Moto Z3 Play features a 12 MP + 5 MP dual rear camera setup for studio-quality portraits and an 8 MP wide-angle front-facing camera with screen flash. To launch the camera, twist your wrist twice quickly (Moto Action) or tap the camera icon on the home screen. Tap to focus, pinch to zoom, and use the on-screen controls to switch between modes like Portrait, Panorama, and Manual.

4.3. Alexa Hands-Free
The Amazon exclusive version of the Moto Z3 Play includes Alexa Built-in. Simply say "Alexa" or double-press the power button to activate Alexa. You can use voice commands to play music, hear the news, check the weather, set alarms, and more.

4.4. Fingerprint Sensor and Facial Recognition
Unlock your phone instantly using the side-mounted fingerprint sensor or facial recognition. To set up, navigate to Settings > Security & location > Fingerprint or Face Unlock and follow the on-screen instructions.

4.5. Moto Actions (Gestures)
Motorola includes intuitive gestures for quick access to features:
- Chop Twice for Flashlight: Quickly turn the flashlight on or off with two chopping motions.
- Twist for Camera: Twist your wrist twice to instantly open the camera app.
- Three Finger Screenshot: Touch and hold the screen with three fingers to capture a screenshot.
4.6. Battery and Charging
The Moto Z3 Play is equipped with a 3,000 mAh battery. It supports TurboPower charging, providing hours of power after only minutes of charging. Use the included Turbo Charger for optimal charging speed. The Moto Power Pack Mod can significantly extend your device's battery life.
5. Moto Mods
Moto Mods are modular accessories that magnetically attach to the back of your Moto Z3 Play, instantly transforming its capabilities. The included Moto Power Pack provides additional battery life. Other Moto Mods (purchased separately) can turn your phone into a movie projector, a powerful speaker, or enhance camera functionality.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean your phone. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
- Software Updates: Regularly check for and install software updates to ensure optimal performance and security. Go to Settings > System > System updates.
- Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid extreme temperatures and do not let the battery fully discharge frequently.
- Data Backup: Regularly back up your important data to a cloud service or computer to prevent loss.
7. Troubleshooting
- Phone Not Responding: If your phone freezes, press and hold the Power button for about 10-15 seconds to force a restart.
- Battery Draining Quickly: Check background app usage in Settings > Battery. Reduce screen brightness and disable unnecessary features like GPS or Wi-Fi when not in use. Consider using the Moto Power Pack.
- Connectivity Issues (Wi-Fi/Cellular): Try toggling Wi-Fi or Airplane Mode off and on. Restart your phone. If cellular issues persist, contact your carrier.
- App Crashes: Clear the app's cache (Settings > Apps & notifications > App info > [App Name] > Storage & cache > Clear cache). If the problem continues, try reinstalling the app.
- Factory Reset: As a last resort for persistent issues, you can perform a factory reset. Warning: This will erase all data on your phone. Back up your data before proceeding. Go to Settings > System > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset).
