Setup
1. Unboxing and Components
Carefully remove the sensor from its packaging. Ensure all components are present. The package should contain the Centralite Temperature and Humidity Sensor and one CR2 battery.
2. Battery Installation
The sensor requires one CR2 battery (included). To install or replace the battery:
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the sensor.
- Open the compartment cover.
- Insert the CR2 battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3. Pairing with a Zigbee Hub
The Centralite Temperature and Humidity Sensor is a Zigbee device and requires a compatible Zigbee hub for operation. It works with SmartThings, Hubitat, Ezlo, Vera, and other Zigbee platforms that support indoor temperature and humidity monitoring functions.
- Ensure your Zigbee hub is powered on and in pairing mode. Refer to your hub's specific instructions for entering pairing mode.
- With the battery installed, the sensor should automatically attempt to pair. If not, press the pairing button (usually a small button on the side or back) for a few seconds until an indicator light (if present) blinks.
- Once paired, the sensor will appear in your hub's connected devices list or associated application.
- For Ezlo hubs, use the MiOS app, downloadable from Android or iOS Appstores. For other Zigbee hubs, make sure you use the app that is required for that particular hub manufacturer.

4. Placement
Place the sensor in an area where accurate temperature and humidity monitoring is desired. Avoid direct sunlight, drafts, or placement near heat sources that could skew readings. The sensor is suitable for indoor use in various locations:
- Living Rooms: For general climate comfort.
- Nurseries: To maintain optimal conditions for infants.
- Bedrooms: For personalized comfort and sleep quality.
- Basements: To detect high humidity and prevent mold.
- Attics and Outbuildings: For monitoring environments without built-in temperature control.
- Cigar Humidors & Wine Cellars: For sensitive storage conditions.
- Refrigerators or Freezers: To prevent spoilage due to equipment failure.

Operating Instructions
1. Monitoring Temperature and Humidity
Once paired, the sensor will continuously transmit temperature and humidity data to your Zigbee hub. You can view these readings through your smart home application.
2. Setting Up Alerts and Automations
Leverage your smart home hub's capabilities to create custom alerts and automations based on the sensor's readings:
- Early Freeze Warning: Configure alerts for low temperatures to prevent pipes from freezing in unheated areas.
- Mold and Mildew Prevention: Set up notifications if humidity levels exceed a certain threshold in basements or other high-humidity areas, allowing you to take corrective action.
- Food Safety: Receive alerts if temperatures in refrigerators or freezers rise, indicating potential equipment failure or power outages.
- Climate Control: Integrate with your HVAC system to respond to temperature and humidity changes, optimizing comfort and reducing energy consumption.

Maintenance
1. Battery Replacement
The sensor is designed for a long battery life, typically up to two years. When the battery level is low, your smart home hub application may notify you. Replace the CR2 battery as described in the "Battery Installation" section under Setup.
2. Cleaning
To ensure accurate readings, keep the sensor clean. Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or allow moisture to enter the device.
Troubleshooting
- Sensor Not Connecting/Device Unresponsive:
- Ensure the battery is correctly installed and has sufficient charge. Replace if necessary.
- Verify that your Zigbee hub is powered on and functioning correctly.
- Bring the sensor closer to the Zigbee hub to rule out range issues.
- Try re-pairing the sensor with your hub. Remove it from your hub's device list and then follow the pairing instructions again.
- If using an Amazon Echo Plus or Echo Show 2, ensure it is updated and functioning as a Zigbee hub.
- Inaccurate Readings:
- Check the sensor's placement. Ensure it is not in direct sunlight, near heat/cold sources, or in a draft.
- Clean the sensor's exterior to remove any dust or debris that might obstruct the sensors.
- Short Battery Life:
- Ensure you are using a fresh, high-quality CR2 battery.
- Extreme temperatures can affect battery performance.
- Frequent reporting intervals (if configurable by your hub) might drain the battery faster.
