6. Care and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your tea maker.

6.1 Daily Cleaning

  • Always unplug the tea maker from the power outlet before cleaning.
  • Allow the appliance to cool completely.
  • Empty any remaining water or tea from the kettle.
  • Wash the glass kettle, tea basket, and lids with warm, soapy water using a soft sponge. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Wipe the exterior of the power base with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scourers.
  • Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling or storing.

6.2 Descaling

Mineral deposits from water can build up over time, affecting performance. Descale your tea maker regularly, depending on water hardness and frequency of use.

  1. Prepare a descaling solution according to the descaler manufacturer's instructions, or use a mixture of white vinegar and water (1:2 ratio).
  2. Pour the solution into the kettle, ensuring it does not exceed the MAX fill line.
  3. Place the kettle on the power base and run a 'Hot Water' cycle at the highest temperature.
  4. Allow the solution to sit in the kettle for 15-30 minutes (or as recommended by descaler).
  5. Empty the kettle and rinse thoroughly with fresh water several times to remove any descaler residue.
  6. Run two full cycles with fresh water to ensure all descaling solution is flushed out.
