1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective use of your NewAir Quietheat15S Portable Ceramic Space Heater. Please read all instructions carefully before operation and retain this manual for future reference.

The NewAir Quietheat15S is designed to provide supplemental heating for indoor spaces up to 250 square feet. It features ceramic heating technology, a remote control, and various safety mechanisms.

2. Important Safety Instructions

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, observe the following safety precautions:

  • Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).
  • This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Use handles when moving this heater.
  • Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 meters) from the front of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear.
  • Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.
  • Always unplug heater when not in use.
  • Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Discard heater or return to authorized service facility for examination and/or repair.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas, and similar indoor locations. Never locate heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
  • Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over.
  • To disconnect heater, turn controls to OFF, then remove plug from outlet.
  • Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
  • To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
  • A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable vapors or liquids are used or stored.
  • Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
  • This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.

3. Product Overview

The NewAir Quietheat15S is a compact and efficient ceramic space heater. It includes a main unit and a remote control for convenient operation.

4. Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove the heater and all packaging materials from the box. Retain packaging for storage if needed.
  2. Placement: Place the heater on a firm, level surface. Ensure there is at least 3 feet (0.9 meters) of clear space around the heater from any combustible materials.
  3. Power Connection: Plug the power cord directly into a 120V AC, 60Hz wall outlet. Do not use extension cords or power strips.

5. Operating Instructions

The heater can be operated using the control panel on the unit or the included remote control.

Control Panel and Remote Functions:

  • Power Button: Turns the heater ON or OFF.
  • Mode Button: Cycles through heat settings (High, Low, Eco).
  • Temperature Adjustment Buttons (+/-): Adjusts the desired temperature between 41°F (5°C) and 95°F (35°C).
  • Timer Button: Sets the automatic shut-off timer for up to 12 hours. Each press increases the timer by one hour.
  • LCD Display: Shows current temperature, set temperature, and timer settings.

Operating the Heater:

  1. Plug the heater into a suitable electrical outlet.
  2. Press the Power button to turn the heater ON. The heater will start in a default mode.
  3. Use the Mode button to select your desired heat setting:
    • High Heat: Provides maximum heating output (1500 Watts).
    • Low Heat: Provides reduced heating output.
    • Eco Mode: The heater automatically adjusts its power consumption to maintain the set temperature, optimizing energy use.
  4. Adjust the desired temperature using the + and - buttons. The heater will cycle ON and OFF to maintain the set temperature.
  5. To set the timer, press the Timer button. The display will show the timer setting. Continue pressing to increase the duration up to 12 hours. The heater will automatically turn off after the set time has elapsed.
  6. To turn the heater OFF, press the Power button. Unplug the heater when not in use.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your heater.

Cleaning:

  • Always unplug the heater and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces of the heater. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Gently vacuum the air intake and exhaust grilles to remove dust and lint.
  • Never immerse the heater in water or allow water to drip into the interior.

Storage:

When storing the heater, keep it in a cool, dry location. It is recommended to store it in its original packaging to protect it from dust and damage.

7. Troubleshooting

If your heater is not operating correctly, consult the following table for common issues and solutions.
