4.2 Initial Setup (Time Zone, Language, DST)
Upon battery installation, the clock will attempt to synchronize with the atomic time signal. If manual adjustments are needed or for initial configuration:
- Use the 'MODE' button to cycle through settings.
- To set the Time Zone, locate the time zone switch on the back of the clock and select your desired zone (e.g., PST, MST, CST, EST).
- To adjust language (English, French, Spanish), use the appropriate button (refer to the clock's back panel for specific button labels).
- Toggle Daylight Saving Time (DST) ON or OFF using the dedicated switch on the back, if applicable to your region.

4.3 Atomic Time Synchronization
The clock automatically attempts to synchronize with the NIST Atomic Clock signal. This ensures accurate timekeeping. Place the clock in an area where it can receive a clear signal, typically near a window and away from large metal objects or electronic interference.
4.4 Outdoor Sensor Placement
For accurate outdoor temperature readings, place the outdoor sensor in a shaded area, protected from direct sunlight and precipitation. Ensure it is within the effective range of the main clock unit.

5. Operation
5.1 Display Modes
The clock displays time, date, day of the week, indoor temperature, and outdoor temperature. The large digits ensure readability from a distance.

Image 5.1: The clock's large display is easily visible in a room setting.
5.2 Alarm Function
The clock includes an alarm function. To set the alarm, press the 'ALARM' button and use the adjustment buttons to set the desired alarm time. Press 'ALARM' again to activate or deactivate the alarm. The 'SNOOZE' button provides a temporary pause for the alarm.
5.3 Manual Settings
In areas where atomic signal reception is poor or unavailable, the time and date can be set manually. Refer to the specific buttons on the back of the clock for 'MANUAL SET' and adjustment controls.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
To clean the clock, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the display or casing.
6.2 Battery Replacement
When the display dims or the clock functions become erratic, it is time to replace the batteries. Follow the battery installation steps outlined in Section 4.1.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No display or dim display | Low or dead batteries | Replace all batteries with fresh ones. |
| Incorrect time/date | Poor atomic signal reception or incorrect time zone setting | Relocate the clock to an area with better signal. Verify time zone and DST settings. Manually set if necessary. |
| Outdoor temperature not displayed or inaccurate | Sensor out of range, low sensor batteries, or interference | Ensure sensor is within range and has fresh batteries. Reposition sensor away from direct sunlight or heat sources. |
| Clock not responding to buttons | Temporary software glitch | Remove batteries for 1 minute, then reinsert to reset the clock. |
