4. Setup
4.1 Mounting the Reel
- Select a Mounting Location: Choose a sturdy wall, workbench, or compressor dolly capable of supporting the weight of the reel and hose. Ensure the location allows for full hose extension and retraction without obstruction.
- Mark Mounting Holes: Position the reel in the desired location and mark the positions for the mounting bolts through the holes in the steel mounting bracket.
- Drill Pilot Holes: Drill pilot holes appropriate for your chosen fasteners (fasteners not included).
- Secure the Reel: Attach the reel to the mounting surface using suitable bolts, washers, and nuts. Ensure all fasteners are tightened securely.
- Adjust Guide Arm: The guide arm can be adjusted up to 45 degrees to optimize hose payout depending on the mounting orientation. Loosen the guide arm bolts, adjust to the desired angle, and re-tighten securely.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Extending the Hose
To extend the hose, simply pull it out to the desired length. The hose will automatically lock into place at various intervals. You will hear a clicking sound as the locking mechanism engages.
5.2 Retracting the Hose
To retract the hose, pull it gently a short distance further until the locking mechanism disengages. Then, slowly guide the hose back into the reel. Do not release the hose abruptly, as this can cause damage to the reel or hose and pose a safety hazard.
6. Maintenance
- Hose Inspection: Regularly inspect the entire length of the hose for any signs of wear, cuts, cracks, or bulges. Replace the hose if any damage is found.
- Connection Checks: Periodically check all air connections for tightness and leaks. Tighten fittings as needed.
- Cleaning: Keep the hose and reel clean from dirt, debris, and oil. Wipe down with a damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals that could damage the PVC hose.
- Storage: Store the air hose reel in a dry environment, protected from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight, to prolong its lifespan.
7. Troubleshooting
7.1 Hose Not Retracting
- Ensure the hose is pulled slightly further to disengage the locking mechanism.
- Check for any obstructions or kinks in the hose that might prevent smooth retraction.
- Inspect the internal spring mechanism for damage (if accessible and safe to do so, otherwise contact support).
7.2 Air Leaks
- Check all threaded connections for tightness. Apply thread sealant if necessary.
- Inspect the hose itself for punctures or cracks. Replace the hose if damaged.
- Ensure quick-connect fittings (if used) are properly seated and not worn.
7.3 Low Air Pressure
- Verify that your air compressor is operating correctly and providing adequate pressure.
- Check for any kinks or severe bends in the hose that could restrict airflow.
- Ensure all connections are sealed properly to prevent pressure loss.
