Setup

1. Powering On

The Little Shelford radio can be powered by mains electricity or 4 x AA batteries (not included).

  • Mains Power: Connect the supplied mains power cable to the DC IN port on the back of the radio and plug the adapter into a wall socket.
  • Battery Power: Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the radio and insert 4 x AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.

2. Antenna

For optimal DAB/DAB+ and FM radio reception, fully extend the telescopic antenna located on the back of the radio.

3. Initial Scan (DAB/DAB+)

Upon first power-on, the radio will automatically perform a full scan for DAB/DAB+ stations. This may take a few minutes. Once complete, the radio will display the first available station.

  • If an automatic scan does not occur, press the Scan button to initiate a full scan.
  • To manually rescan for stations at any time, ensure you are in DAB mode and press the Scan button.

Operating Instructions

1. DAB/DAB+ Radio Mode

  • Press the Mode button repeatedly until 'DAB' is displayed.
  • Use the Navigation Buttons (Left/Right) or rotate the Rotary Dial to browse through the available stations.
  • Press the Rotary Dial or Preset/Enter button to select a station.

2. FM Radio Mode

  • Press the Mode button repeatedly until 'FM' is displayed.
  • To auto-scan for the next available station, press the Scan button.
  • To manually tune, rotate the Rotary Dial to adjust the frequency.

3. Bluetooth Mode

  • Press the Mode button repeatedly until 'Bluetooth' is displayed. The radio will enter pairing mode, indicated by a flashing Bluetooth icon on the display.
  • On your external device (e.g., smartphone, tablet), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  • Select 'Majority Little Shelford' from the list. Once connected, the radio will confirm the connection, and the Bluetooth icon will stop flashing.
  • You can now stream audio from your device to the radio.

4. Setting Presets (DAB/FM)

You can save up to 20 preset stations for quick access.

  • To Save a Preset: Tune to your desired station. Press and hold the Preset button until 'Preset Store' appears. Use the Navigation Buttons or Rotary Dial to select a preset number (1-20). Press the Preset/Enter button to confirm.
  • To Recall a Preset: Briefly press the Preset button. Use the Navigation Buttons or Rotary Dial to select the desired preset number. Press the Preset/Enter button to listen.

5. Alarm Clock

The radio features a dual alarm clock function.

  • To Set an Alarm: Press and hold the Mode/Info/Menu button to enter the menu. Use the Rotary Dial to navigate to 'Alarm' and press to select. Choose 'Alarm 1' or 'Alarm 2'. Follow the on-screen prompts to set the alarm time, duration, source (DAB, FM, or Buzzer), and frequency (daily, once, weekends, weekdays).
  • To Snooze: When an alarm sounds, press the Preset/Enter/Snooze button to activate snooze. The alarm will sound again after a short interval.
  • To Cancel an Alarm: When an alarm sounds, press the Power button to turn it off completely.
