5.2. Binding the Transmitter and Receiver
Binding is the process of linking the transmitter and receiver so they can communicate. This must be done before first use and after replacing either component.
- Ensure the transmitter is powered off and the receiver is disconnected from power.
- Connect the bind cable to the receiver's BIND/VCC port.
- Connect the power supply to any other channel port on the receiver. The receiver's LED will flash rapidly, indicating it is in binding mode.
- Press and hold the BIND button on the transmitter while turning on the power switch.
- The transmitter's LED will flash slowly, then turn solid, indicating successful binding. The receiver's LED will also turn solid.
- Release the BIND button on the transmitter and disconnect the bind cable from the receiver.
- Power off both the transmitter and receiver.
- Power on the transmitter first, then the receiver. The receiver's LED should turn solid, indicating a successful connection.
Note: If binding fails, repeat the steps. Ensure no other 2.4GHz devices are operating nearby during the binding process to avoid interference.
6. Operating Instructions
The FS-GT5 offers a range of adjustable settings and functions accessible via its LCD display and NavKey. Below are common operations and feature adjustments.
6.1. Basic Navigation and Display
The main interface displays information related to the model, such as transmitter voltage, function status, and more. Use the NavKey to navigate through menu options.

6.2. Adjusting Settings (Example: D/R, EPA, ABS, SVC)
To adjust specific settings, navigate to the corresponding menu item using the NavKey and then modify the values.
- D/R (Dual Rate): Adjusts the maximum throw of the steering or throttle. Useful for fine-tuning control sensitivity.
- EPA (End Point Adjustment): Sets the maximum travel for each servo channel. Ensures servos do not over-travel and bind.
- ABS (Automatic Brake System): Configures the anti-lock braking function. This can prevent wheels from locking up during hard braking, improving control.
- SVC (Smart Vehicle Control): Adjusts the sensitivity of the built-in gyroscope for vehicle stability. Higher values provide more stabilization.
- CRAWL Mode: Selects specialized modes for crawler vehicles, optimizing control for low-speed, high-torque maneuvers.
Refer to the on-screen menu and the detailed manual for specific adjustment procedures for each function.
7. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Flysky FS-GT5 system:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the transmitter and receiver. Avoid using solvents or abrasive cleaners.
- Storage: Store the system in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.
- Antenna Care: Handle the antenna carefully. Avoid bending it excessively or applying undue force, as this can damage the internal wiring.
- Battery Care: Always use recommended battery types. Ensure batteries are charged correctly and disposed of responsibly.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your FS-GT5 system, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power to transmitter/receiver | Low or dead batteries; incorrect battery installation; loose connection. | Check battery levels and replace if necessary. Ensure correct polarity. Verify all connections are secure. |
| No response from model | Transmitter and receiver not bound; out of range; interference; damaged receiver/transmitter. | Perform binding procedure again. Ensure model is within operating range. Avoid areas with high interference. Inspect for physical damage. |
| Erratic control or glitches | Interference; low battery voltage; loose servo connections. | Move to an area with less interference. Check transmitter and receiver battery voltage. Secure all servo connections. |
| Steering/Throttle not centered | Trim settings incorrect; mechanical issue with servo/linkage. | Adjust ST.TRIM or TH.TRIM. Inspect servo and linkage for obstructions or damage. |
