1. Introduction

2. Safety Instructions

• Always supervise children when they are interacting with the cage and pets.
• Ensure all parts are securely assembled before placing any animals inside.
• Place the cage on a stable, level surface away from direct sunlight, drafts, and extreme temperatures.
• Regularly inspect the cage for any damage, loose parts, or splintering wood that could harm your pet.
• This cage is intended for small rodents. Ensure the species you house is appropriate for the cage size and features. 4. Assembly Instructions

Follow these steps carefully to assemble your Wiltec XXL 3-Tier Wooden Hamster Cage. It is recommended to have a screwdriver and possibly a rubber mallet for gentle tapping.

1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. Inspect for any damage.
2. Remove Protective Film: Peel off the protective film from both sides of the acrylic observation windows.
3. Assemble Base Structure: Connect the side wooden panels to form the hexagonal base. Ensure the grooves for the removable tray are aligned at the bottom. Secure with provided screws.
4. Insert Removable Tray: Slide the removable base tray into the designated slot at the bottom of the cage.
5. Install Lower Level: Place the first wooden platform (lower level) into its designated position, typically 19 cm from the base. Secure if necessary.
6. Install Middle Level: Place the second wooden platform (middle level) into its designated position, typically 37 cm from the base. Secure if necessary.
7. Attach Ramps: Connect the wooden ramps between the levels to allow your pet to move freely. Ensure they are stable.
8. Install Acrylic Windows: Carefully slide the acrylic windows into the grooves on the front and sides of the cage.
9. Attach Hinged Roof: Secure the hinged mesh roof to the top of the cage using the provided hinges and screws. Ensure it opens and closes smoothly and latches securely.
10. Final Check: Verify that all screws are tightened, and all components are stable and secure.

5. Usage Guidelines

Proper setup of the internal environment is crucial for your pet's well-being.

• Bedding: Fill the lowest level with a generous amount of appropriate bedding material. This allows rodents to burrow and build nests, fulfilling natural behaviors.
• Food and Water: Place food bowls and water bottles on the upper levels to prevent bedding from contaminating them.
• Accessories: Utilize the different levels for various accessories such as exercise wheels, chew toys, and hiding spots.
• Observation: The clear acrylic windows allow for easy observation of your pets without disturbing them.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning is essential for maintaining a hygienic and healthy environment for your pets.

• Daily Spot Cleaning: Remove soiled bedding and waste daily.
• Weekly Deep Cleaning:
1. Carefully remove your pet(s) and place them in a secure temporary enclosure.
2. Open the hinged roof and front door for full access.
3. Pull out the removable base tray to easily dispose of all bedding and waste.
4. Wipe down all surfaces of the cage, including platforms, ramps, and acrylic windows, with a pet-safe cleaner or mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before returning your pet.
5. Replace with fresh bedding and reintroduce your pet(s).
• Wood Care: The cage is made of fir wood. To prevent urine stains and prolong the life of the wood, consider applying a pet-safe, non-toxic sealant or varnish, especially to the lower levels.

7. Troubleshooting

• Difficulty with Screw Holes: If screw holes are not pre-drilled or misaligned, carefully create pilot holes with a small drill bit to prevent wood splitting.
• Wood Splintering: The natural wood material can sometimes splinter. Gently sand any rough edges or splinters to ensure your pet's safety.
• Unstable Structure: Ensure all screws are fully tightened. If the cage feels wobbly, re-check all connections and ensure it is placed on a flat, stable surface.
