4. Operating Instructions

Once the new filters are installed, your appliance is ready for operation. The VEVA filters are designed to work seamlessly with your compatible vacuum or air purifier to provide enhanced filtration.

4.1 Filter Functionality

  • HEPA Filters: These filters capture small particles as tiny as 0.3 microns, including pollen, mold spores, bacteria, and germs, improving overall air quality.
  • Foam and Felt Filters: These pre-filters protect your vacuum motor by capturing larger dust, dirt, and small particles, extending the life of the HEPA filter and maintaining suction performance.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance of your VEVA filters ensures continued high performance and extends the lifespan of your appliance.

5.1 Cleaning Foam and Felt Filters

The foam and felt pre-filters are washable. Follow these steps:

  1. Remove the foam and felt filters from the appliance.
  2. Rinse them under lukewarm water until the water runs clear.
  3. Gently squeeze out excess water.
  4. Allow the filters to air dry completely for at least 24 hours before reinserting them. Do not use a dryer or heat source.

5.2 HEPA Filter Replacement

HEPA filters are not washable and should be replaced periodically. The frequency depends on usage and environmental factors. It is recommended to replace the HEPA filter every 6-12 months for optimal performance.

6. Troubleshooting

If you experience issues after replacing your filters, consider the following:

  • Reduced Suction:
    • Ensure all filters are correctly seated and the filter compartment is securely closed.
    • Check if the foam and felt filters are clean and completely dry.
    • The HEPA filter might need replacement if it's old or heavily soiled.
  • Unusual Odors:
    • Ensure foam and felt filters are completely dry before reinstallation to prevent mildew.
    • Replace activated carbon pre-filters more frequently in environments with strong odors (pets, cooking, smoke).
  • Filters Not Fitting:
    • Double-check your appliance model number against the compatible models listed in Section 3.1.
    • Ensure filters are oriented correctly according to your appliance's design.
