Maintenance
Regular cleaning and descaling ensure optimal performance and longevity of your machine.
Daily Cleaning
- Drip Tray and Used Capsule Container: Empty and rinse daily.
- Exterior: Wipe with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents.
Milk System Cleaning
- After Each Milk Preparation: Turn the milk froth regulator knob to the "Clean" position and press any milk button to rinse the system. This helps prevent milk residue buildup.
- Weekly Deep Clean: Disassemble all components of the milk frother system. Wash them thoroughly with warm soapy water or place them on the top rack of a dishwasher. Ensure all milk residue is removed from the internal parts, especially the froth regulator knob and its spring-loaded receptacle, to prevent blockages and malfunction.
- Storing Milk Container: The milk container can be stored in the refrigerator with milk, but it is recommended to remove the top frother mechanism before storage.
Descaling
The machine features an intuitive descaling function that alerts you when descaling is required, based on your programmed water hardness setting. Follow the instructions provided by the machine's indicators and use a Nespresso-approved descaling solution. The pluggable descaling pipe simplifies the process.
Troubleshooting
Refer to this section for common issues and their potential solutions.
- No Coffee Dispensing: Check water tank level, ensure capsule is correctly inserted, and machine is heated.
- No Milk Froth or Poor Quality Froth:
- Ensure milk container is clean and all parts of the frother mechanism are free from dried milk residue.
- Use fresh, cold milk. Higher protein milk (e.g., whole milk, 2%) generally froths better.
- Check that the milk frother is correctly assembled and attached.
- Beverage Not Hot Enough: Pre-heat your cup with hot water. Ensure the machine has fully heated up before brewing.
- Machine Not Turning On: Check power connection and ensure the power outlet is functional.
- Descaling Light On: Perform the descaling procedure as indicated by the machine.
