Introduction
The ThermoPro TP53 Digital Hygrometer Indoor Thermometer is designed to provide accurate and timely readings of indoor temperature and humidity. This device features a clear LCD display with a touch-activated backlight, comfort level indicators, and records for maximum and minimum values over 24 hours or all time. Setup
1. Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the unit.
- Remove the battery compartment cover.
- Insert 2 x AAA batteries (included) according to the polarity markings (+/-). Ensure to remove any thin plastic insulation from the batteries if present.
- Replace the battery compartment cover.
2. Placement Options
The ThermoPro TP53 offers flexible placement to suit your needs:
- Tabletop Stand: Utilize the integrated fold-out stand to place the unit on any flat surface, such as a desk, table, or shelf.
- Magnetic Back: The strong magnet allows you to attach the thermometer to metal surfaces like refrigerators or metal doors.
- Hanging Mount: Use the hanging hole to mount the unit on a wall using a screw or hook (not included).

Operating Instructions
1. Display Readings
Once powered on, the device will immediately display the current indoor temperature and humidity. The large, clear digits ensure easy readability.
- Temperature: Shown in large digits at the top, in either Fahrenheit (°F) or Celsius (°C).
- Humidity: Shown in large digits at the bottom, as a percentage (%).
- Comfort Level Indicator: Located below the humidity reading, indicating Dry, Comfort, or Wet conditions.
2. Max/Min Records
The device tracks and displays the maximum and minimum temperature and humidity recorded. You can switch between 24-hour records and all-time records.
- Press the "ALL-TIME/24 HRS" button on the back of the unit to toggle between the two record modes.
- The display will show "24 hrs" for the past 24-hour records or "ALL TIME" for records since the last reset.

3. Backlight Operation
To activate the backlight for improved visibility in dark environments:
- Touch the light bulb icon button located at the bottom center of the front display.
- The yellow backlight will illuminate for 15 seconds. You can press it again to turn it off sooner.

4. Temperature Unit Selection
You can switch between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C) temperature units:
- Press the "°F/°C" button on the back of the unit to change the temperature display.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
- Battery Replacement: When the display dims or becomes unreadable, replace the 2 x AAA batteries. Follow the battery installation steps in the Setup section.
- Storage: If storing the unit for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and damage.
Troubleshooting
- Display is blank or dim:
- Check if batteries are installed correctly with correct polarity.
- Ensure any plastic insulation tab has been removed from the batteries.
- Replace with fresh AAA batteries.
- Inaccurate readings:
- Ensure the unit is placed in a location away from direct sunlight, heat sources, or drafts, which can affect accuracy.
- Allow the unit to stabilize for at least 30 minutes after initial setup or relocation.
- Compare readings with another calibrated thermometer/hygrometer if available to confirm significant discrepancies.
- Display appears "funny" or distorted temporarily:
- This can sometimes occur if pressure is applied directly to the LCD screen. It should return to normal once the pressure is removed.
