Operating Instructions

Powering On/Off

To power on the camera, locate the power switch and slide it to the 'ON' position. The camera's display screen will illuminate. To power off, slide the switch to the 'OFF' position.

Basic Settings

Navigate through the camera's menu using the control buttons. Key settings include:

  • Mode: Select between Photo, Video, or Photo+Video mode.
  • Resolution: Set photo resolution (up to 16MP) and video resolution (720p).
  • Trigger Delay: Adjust the time interval between detections.
  • Flash Range: The camera features a 70-foot flash range for night captures.
  • Silent Shield Technology: This feature operates automatically to minimize operational sounds during capture.

Capturing Images/Videos

Once settings are configured and the camera is in 'ON' mode, it will automatically detect motion and capture images or videos based on your selected mode. The 1/2 second trigger speed ensures quick capture of moving subjects.

Retrieving Data

To retrieve captured data, power off the camera and remove the SD card. Insert the SD card into a compatible card reader connected to a computer or other device to view and transfer files.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Gently wipe the camera lens and housing with a soft, dry cloth to remove dirt and debris. Avoid using abrasive cleaners.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace all 8 AA batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display or when performance degrades. Always use fresh, high-quality alkaline batteries.
  • SD Card Management: Periodically format the SD card within the camera's settings to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Back up important files before formatting.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the camera in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods.

Troubleshooting

  • Camera not powering on: Ensure batteries are correctly inserted and fully charged. Check that the power switch is in the 'ON' position.
  • Night videos are blacked out: Verify that the camera's infrared (IR) LEDs are not obstructed. Ensure the camera is positioned within the effective flash range (70 feet) for night captures. Check battery levels, as low power can affect IR performance.
  • Slow trigger speed / Missed captures: Confirm that the camera's firmware is up to date (if applicable, check manufacturer's website). Ensure the SD card is not full or corrupted; try formatting the card. Adjust camera sensitivity settings if available.
  • Poor image/video quality: Clean the camera lens. Ensure the camera is stable and not subject to vibrations. Check resolution settings and adjust as needed.
  • SD card error: Reinsert the SD card. Try formatting the card (after backing up data). If the issue persists, try a different compatible SD card.
