Setting the Time and Date
- To Set the Time: Pull the crown (the small knob on the side of the watch case) out to its outermost position. Rotate the crown in either direction until the hands indicate the correct time. Push the crown back in to its normal position to start the watch.
- To Set the Date: Pull the crown out to the middle position. Rotate the crown to adjust the date. If your watch has a day display, rotating the crown in the opposite direction may adjust the day. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can interfere with the automatic date change mechanism. If the current time falls within this period, first set the time outside this range, then set the date, and finally reset the time to the correct current time. Push the crown back in to its normal position.
Water Resistance Guidelines
Your Timex Mod 44 watch is water resistant to 30 meters (100 feet). This means it is suitable for everyday use and can withstand splashes or brief immersion in water. However, it is not suitable for swimming, showering, bathing, or diving. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in to maintain water resistance.
Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the watch case and crystal with a soft, dry cloth. For the leather strap, avoid prolonged exposure to water and harsh chemicals. Clean with a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary, then dry thoroughly.
- Storage: Store your watch in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery Replacement: The watch uses one product-specific battery. When the battery needs replacement, it is recommended to have it replaced by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and water resistance.
- Avoid Impact: While durable, avoid dropping or subjecting the watch to severe impacts.
