Setup
Battery Installation
The PolyTac X is designed to operate with either two CR123A lithium batteries or one Streamlight SL-B26 rechargeable battery pack. CR123A batteries are included with this model.
- Unscrew the tail cap of the flashlight by turning it counter-clockwise.
- Insert the batteries with the positive (+) end facing towards the head of the flashlight. For CR123A batteries, ensure both are oriented correctly.
- Screw the tail cap back on by turning it clockwise until it is securely tightened.

Operating Instructions
Basic Operation
The PolyTac X features a multi-function push-button tail switch for one-handed operation.
- Momentary On: Lightly press and hold the tail switch. Release to turn off.
- Constant On: Press the tail switch until it clicks. Press again to turn off.
TEN-TAP Programming
The TEN-TAP programming allows you to select one of three different operating programs to suit your needs. The default program is High/Strobe/Low.
To change the program:
- Ensure the flashlight is off.
- Perform 9 quick presses (taps) of the tail switch.
- On the 10th press, press and hold the button until the light turns off (approximately 1-2 seconds).
- Release the button. The flashlight is now in the next program mode.
- Repeat this process to cycle through the available programs until you reach your desired setting.
The three available programs are:
- Program 1 (Default): High → Strobe → Low
- Program 2: High Only
- Program 3: Low → High

- Battery Contacts: Keep battery contacts clean. Use a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol if necessary.
- Storage: If storing the flashlight for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
Troubleshooting
If your PolyTac X flashlight is not functioning as expected, consider the following common issues:
- Light Does Not Turn On:
- Check battery orientation. Ensure positive (+) ends are facing the head.
- Replace batteries with fresh ones.
- Ensure the tail cap is fully tightened.
- Clean battery contacts.
- Light Flickers or Is Dim:
- Batteries may be low; replace or recharge.
- Check for loose tail cap or head assembly.
- Clean battery contacts and O-rings.
- Cannot Change Programming Mode:
- Ensure you are performing the 9 quick taps followed by a hold on the 10th press correctly. Timing is crucial.
- Confirm the flashlight is off before attempting to change the program.
