2. Setup

2.1 Initial Charging

Your Eco-Drive watch is powered by light. Before initial use, or if the watch has stopped, ensure it is fully charged. Place the watch in direct sunlight or under bright artificial light for several hours. The watch will begin operating once sufficient charge is accumulated.

2.2 Setting the Time and Date

  1. Pull the crown out to position 2: Gently pull the crown (the knob on the side of the watch) all the way out to the second click position. The second hand will stop.
  2. Set the time: Rotate the crown to move the hour and minute hands to the desired time. Ensure to account for AM/PM if setting the date.
  3. Push the crown in to position 1: Push the crown back in one click to position 1. The second hand will resume movement.
  4. Set the date: Rotate the crown in either direction to adjust the date display. Turn it until the correct date appears.
  5. Push the crown back to normal position: Push the crown completely back into its normal, closed position. The watch is now set.

3. Operation

3.1 Basic Timekeeping

Once set, your Citizen Eco-Drive watch will accurately display the time and date. The second hand moves in one-second intervals. If the watch is exposed to sufficient light, it will continue to run without manual winding or battery replacement.

3.2 Water Resistance

This watch is water resistant up to 100 meters (10 ATM). This means it is suitable for swimming, showering, and snorkeling. However, it is not recommended for scuba diving. Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in before exposing the watch to water.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning Your Watch

To maintain the appearance of your watch, wipe the case and crystal with a soft, dry cloth. For the polyurethane strap, a mild soap and water solution can be used, followed by thorough rinsing and drying. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

4.2 Charging Recommendations

For optimal performance, expose your Eco-Drive watch to light regularly. If stored in darkness, the watch may stop. A full charge can last for several months, even in complete darkness. However, frequent exposure to light will ensure consistent operation.

4.3 Storage

When storing your watch for extended periods, place it in an area where it can receive some light, or ensure it is fully charged before storing in a dark place. Avoid extreme temperatures or strong magnetic fields.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Watch Not Running

If your watch has stopped, it likely needs to be charged. Place it under bright light (direct sunlight is ideal) for several hours. The second hand may start moving in two-second intervals, indicating a low charge. Continue charging until it resumes normal one-second intervals.

5.2 Incorrect Time/Date

Refer to section 2.2 "Setting the Time and Date" to manually adjust the time and date. If the issue persists after proper setting and charging, contact customer support.
