4. Setup Guide
4.1. Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the sensor.
- Slide or unclip the cover to open it.
- Insert 2x AA (LR6) batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.

4.2. Channel Selection
The sensor supports 7 selectable channels. This allows you to use multiple sensors with a single compatible weather station, or to avoid interference if other 868 MHz devices are in use nearby.
- Inside the battery compartment, locate the channel selection switch (usually a small DIP switch or button).
- Select a channel (1-7) that is not currently in use by other sensors.
- Ensure the selected channel matches the channel setting on your compatible Bresser weather station.
4.3. Placement and Mounting
For optimal performance, consider the following when placing your sensor:
- Location: Choose an outdoor location that is sheltered from direct sunlight and precipitation to ensure accurate readings and prolong sensor life. An ideal location is under an eave or on a north-facing wall.
- Ventilation: Ensure good air circulation around the sensor.
- Distance: Place the sensor within 150 meters (492 feet) of your main weather station. Walls, metal structures, and other electronic devices can reduce the effective range.
- Mounting: Use the integrated mounting hole on the back of the sensor to securely attach it to a wall or post using a screw (not included).
5. Operating Instructions
Once batteries are installed and a channel is selected, the sensor will automatically begin transmitting temperature and humidity data. The red LED indicator on the front of the sensor may flash briefly during transmission.
To view the data, ensure your compatible Bresser weather station is powered on and set to the same channel as the sensor. The weather station should automatically detect and display the sensor's readings.
Important:
- If the weather station does not receive data, check the battery level of the sensor and ensure both devices are on the same channel.
- Avoid placing the sensor near large metal objects or strong electromagnetic interference sources, as this can disrupt signal transmission.
6. Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the sensor periodically with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on your weather station, or if the sensor stops transmitting data. Always replace both batteries at the same time with new ones of the same type.
- Storage: If storing the sensor for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
- Environmental Protection: Dispose of used batteries and the device in accordance with local regulations. Do not dispose of them with household waste.
