Model: GE-SP 4390 N-A LL ECO | Brand: Einhell
Introduction
The Einhell GE-SP 4390 N-A LL ECO submersible pump is designed for pumping clear water with high efficiency. Its advanced Aquasensor technology allows for automatic operation with extremely low suction levels, making it ideal for draining flooded basements, pools, or other areas where minimal residual water is desired. This manual provides essential information for safe operation, setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Safety Instructions
Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury or damage to the pump:
- Ensure the power supply matches the pump's specifications (230 V).
- Do not operate the pump if the power cable or plug is damaged.
- Never lift or carry the pump by its power cable. Use the integrated handle.
- The pump is designed for clear water only. Do not use it for corrosive, flammable, or explosive liquids, or for water containing large solid particles.
- Keep children and unauthorized persons away from the operating area.
- Disconnect the pump from the power supply before any maintenance, cleaning, or when not in use.
- Ensure the pump is placed on a stable, level surface during operation.

Operating Instructions
The Einhell GE-SP 4390 N-A LL ECO pump features an Aquasensor for automatic operation and a manual mode.
Aquasensor Automatic Operation
The Aquasensor allows the pump to start and stop automatically based on predefined water levels. Use the selector switch on the pump to choose the desired automatic start level:
- Level 1 (1 mm start): The pump starts for 30 seconds when the water level reaches 1 mm. This is ideal for near-complete drainage.
- Level 2 (5 cm start): The pump starts when the water level reaches 5 cm and continues pumping until it reaches the 1 mm level, then runs for an additional 30 seconds.
- Level 3 (10 cm start): The pump starts when the water level reaches 10 cm and continues pumping until it reaches the 1 mm level, then runs for an additional 30 seconds.

Figure 5: The Aquasensor allows for automatic start at 5mm and stop at 1mm residual water.
Manual Operation
For continuous pumping regardless of water level, switch the pump to manual mode. In this mode, the pump will operate continuously until it is manually unplugged from the power supply. This is useful for initial rapid drainage of large volumes of water.

Figure 6: The pump effectively removes water from flooded areas, leaving minimal residue.
Non-Return Valve
The integrated non-return valve prevents water from flowing back into the drained area once the pump stops, ensuring efficient and complete drainage.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your pump.
- Cleaning: After each use, especially if pumping slightly turbid water, rinse the pump with clean water. Clean the suction area and the Aquasensor to prevent blockages and ensure accurate readings.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the power cable, plug, and pump housing for any signs of damage. Check the hose connection for wear.
- Storage: When not in use, store the pump in a dry, frost-free location. Ensure all water is drained from the pump before storage.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Pump does not start. | No power supply; Aquasensor not activated (in auto mode); Motor overheating. | Check power connection and circuit breaker. Ensure water level is above selected Aquasensor start level. Allow pump to cool down if overheated. |
| Pump runs but does not pump water. | Air in pump; Suction inlet blocked; Hose kinked or blocked; Water level too low. | Submerge pump completely to remove air. Clean suction inlet. Check and clear hose. Ensure water level is sufficient for pumping. |
| Pump stops unexpectedly. | Water level dropped below stop level (in auto mode); Overheating protection activated. | This is normal in auto mode if water is drained. If not, check for blockages or allow pump to cool. |
| Aquasensor not functioning correctly. | Sensor dirty or blocked. | Clean the Aquasensor area thoroughly. |
