3. Setup
3.1. Placement
For optimal audio performance, place the soundbar centrally below your television. Ensure there are no obstructions in front of the soundbar speakers. The compact design allows for placement in various home environments.

3.2. Connections
The soundbar offers multiple connection options to your television and other devices.

- HDMI ARC Connection (Recommended):
Connect an HDMI cable (not included) from the HDMI OUT (TV ARC) port on the soundbar to the HDMI IN (ARC) port on your television. This allows audio to be sent from the TV to the soundbar and enables control of the soundbar with your TV remote. - Optical Connection:
If your TV does not have an HDMI ARC port, connect the supplied optical cable from the TV IN (OPTICAL) port on the soundbar to the optical digital audio output port on your television. - Power Connection:
Connect the supplied AC power cord to the soundbar's AC input and then to a wall outlet.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Basic Controls
The soundbar can be controlled using the included Remote Commander or the buttons on the top panel of the unit.

- Power Button: Turns the soundbar on or off.
- Input Button: Selects the audio input source (TV, Bluetooth, USB).
- Volume Buttons (+/-): Adjusts the master volume level.
- Sound Mode Buttons: Selects various sound modes (e.g., Cinema, Music, Voice).
4.2. Bluetooth Pairing
To connect a Bluetooth device to the soundbar:
- Press the INPUT button on the remote or soundbar until "BT" (Bluetooth) appears on the display.
- The soundbar will enter pairing mode automatically. The Bluetooth indicator will flash.
- On your Bluetooth device, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices. Select "HT-S100F" from the list.
- Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator on the soundbar will stop flashing and remain lit.
4.3. USB Playback
You can play audio files from a USB storage device:
- Insert the USB storage device into the USB port on the rear of the soundbar.
- Press the INPUT button on the remote or soundbar until "USB" appears on the display.
- Playback will begin automatically. Use the remote control to navigate tracks and adjust volume.
4.4. Sound Modes
Optimize your audio experience with various sound modes:
- AUTO SOUND: Automatically optimizes sound settings based on the content.
- STANDARD: Provides balanced sound for general listening.
- CINEMA: Enhances movie audio with a wider soundstage.
- MUSIC: Optimized for music playback.
- VOICE: Enhances dialogue clarity, useful for TV shows or news.
- NIGHT: Reduces dynamic range for comfortable listening at low volumes.
5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your soundbar, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the soundbar to prevent overheating. Do not block any ventilation openings.
- Power Cord: Regularly check the power cord for any damage. If damaged, discontinue use and contact Sony support.
- Storage: If storing the soundbar for an extended period, disconnect it from the power outlet and store it in a cool, dry place.
