1. Product Overview

2. Setup and Installation

2.1 Mounting the Sight

The HS510C-FDE-R comes with an integrated Picatinny mount for secure attachment to compatible firearms. Ensure the firearm is unloaded and safe before proceeding with installation.

  1. Loosen the quick disconnect lever on the mount.
  2. Position the sight on the Picatinny rail in your desired location.
  3. Close the quick disconnect lever firmly until it locks into place. Ensure the sight is securely attached and does not wobble.

2.2 Battery Installation

The HS510C-FDE-R uses a CR2032 battery as a backup power source to the solar panel. The battery compartment is located on the side of the sight.

  1. Unscrew the battery tray cover using a small coin or flat-head screwdriver.
  2. Insert one CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
  3. Replace the battery tray cover and tighten it securely to ensure water resistance.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Power On/Off and Brightness Adjustment

  • Power On: Press either the '+' or '-' button to turn on the sight.
  • Power Off: Press both '+' and '-' buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.
  • Brightness Adjustment: Use the '+' button to increase brightness and the '-' button to decrease brightness. The sight has multiple brightness settings, including night vision compatible levels.
  • Shake Awake: The sight features Shake Awake technology. If no motion is detected for a set period (default 10 minutes, adjustable), the reticle will turn off. Any motion will instantly reactivate the reticle to the last used brightness setting.

3.2 Reticle Selection

The HS510C-FDE-R features a Multi-Reticle System (MRS) allowing you to choose your preferred reticle pattern.

  • Press and hold the '-' button for 3 seconds to cycle through the available reticle options: 2 MOA Dot, 65 MOA Circle with 2 MOA Dot, and 65 MOA Circle only.

3.3 Windage and Elevation Adjustment

Adjustments for windage and elevation are made using the turrets located on the top and side of the sight. Each click adjusts the point of impact by 0.5 MOA.

  1. Remove the protective caps from the windage and elevation adjustment turrets.
  2. Use a small flat-head screwdriver or the rim of a cartridge to turn the turrets.
  3. Turn the UP arrow for elevation adjustment to move the point of impact up, and DOWN to move it down.
  4. Turn the R arrow for windage adjustment to move the point of impact right, and L to move it left.
  5. Replace the protective caps after zeroing.

4. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your HOLOSUN HS510C-FDE-R sight.

  • Cleaning Lenses: Use a soft, lint-free cloth and lens cleaning solution to gently wipe the optical surfaces. Avoid using abrasive materials or excessive force.
  • Cleaning Housing: Wipe the sight's housing with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Do not use harsh chemicals.
  • Battery Replacement: While the Solar Failsafe extends battery life significantly, replace the CR2032 battery annually or if the reticle appears dim in low light conditions without sufficient ambient light.
