Important Safety Instructions
When using pressure cookers, basic safety precautions should always be followed:
- Read all instructions carefully.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
- Close supervision is necessary when the pressure cooker is used near children.
- Do not place the pressure cooker in a heated oven.
- Extreme caution must be used when moving a pressure cooker containing hot liquids.
- Do not use the pressure cooker for other than intended use.
- This appliance cooks under pressure. Improper use may result in scalding injury. Make certain unit is properly closed before operating. See "Operating Instructions".
- Do not fill the unit over 2/3 full. When cooking foods that expand during cooking, such as rice or dried vegetables, do not fill the unit over 1/2 full. Overfilling may cause a risk of clogging the vent pipe and developing excess pressure. See "Operating Instructions".
- Be aware that certain foods, such as applesauce, cranberries, pearl barley, oatmeal or other cereals, split peas, noodles, macaroni, rhubarb, or spaghetti can foam, froth, and sputter, and clog the pressure release device. These foods should not be cooked in a pressure cooker.
- Always check the pressure release devices for clogging before use.
- Do not open the pressure cooker until the unit has cooled and internal pressure has been released. If the handles are difficult to push apart, this indicates that the cooker is still pressurized – do not force it open. Any pressure in the cooker can be dangerous. See "Operating Instructions".
- Do not use this pressure cooker for deep frying with oil.
- To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or pressure cooker in water or other liquid.

Cooking Levels
The WMF Perfect Premium Pressure Cooker features two cooking levels, adjustable via the all-in-one turning knob on the handle:
- Vitamin Level (107 °C / 225 °F): Indicated by the first green ring on the cooking signal. Ideal for gentle cooking of delicate vegetables, fish, and foods that require lower temperatures to preserve nutrients.
- Speed Level (115 °C / 239 °F): Indicated by the second green ring on the cooking signal. Suitable for faster cooking of meats, stews, and tougher vegetables.

Pressure Release
Once cooking is complete, you must release the pressure before opening the lid. There are two main methods:
- Natural Release: Remove the cooker from the heat source and allow it to cool down naturally. The pressure indicator will drop on its own. This method is ideal for foods that benefit from continued cooking, such as stews and roasts.
- Quick Release: For faster pressure release, carefully turn the all-in-one knob to the steam release position. Steam will escape rapidly. Caution: Keep hands and face away from the steam vent. This method is suitable for delicate foods that can overcook quickly.
Do not attempt to open the lid until the cooking signal has fully retracted and no pressure remains inside the cooker.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Proper cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and safe operation of your WMF Perfect Premium Pressure Cooker.
- Pot and Lid: The stainless steel pot and lid are dishwasher safe. For best results, hand wash with warm soapy water and a soft cloth.
- Handle Assembly: The handle assembly is removable for easy cleaning. It should be hand-washed only. Do not immerse the handle in water. Rinse under running water, ensuring all food particles are removed from the valves and mechanisms.
- Sealing Ring: Remove the sealing ring from the lid after each use and wash it separately. Ensure it is clean and free of food residue before reinserting. Replace the sealing ring annually or if it shows signs of wear or cracking.
- Valves and Vents: Regularly check the cooking signal, safety valve, and other vents for any blockages. Use a small brush or toothpick if necessary to clear any debris.
