4. Setup and Connections
4.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove the ScanControl unit from its packaging. Inspect for any signs of damage during transit. Retain the packaging for future transport or storage.
4.2 Power Connection
- Locate the DC INPUT port on the rear panel (refer to Figure 3).
- Connect the provided power adapter to the DC INPUT port.
- Plug the power adapter into a suitable electrical outlet.
- Turn on the unit using the ON/OFF switch located near the power input.
4.3 DMX Connections
- Connect a DMX cable from the DMX OUTPUT port on the ScanControl (refer to Figure 3) to the DMX INPUT of your first lighting fixture.
- For multiple fixtures, daisy-chain them by connecting the DMX OUTPUT of the first fixture to the DMX INPUT of the second, and so on.

5. Operating Instructions
The ScanControl allows for control of up to 12 fixtures, each with up to 16 DMX channels. The control surface is divided into several functional areas.
5.1 Fixture Selection
- Use the FIXTURES buttons (1-12) on the left side of the panel to select the desired lighting fixture(s) for control.
- Multiple fixtures can be selected simultaneously.
5.2 DMX Channel Control (Faders)
- The 8 faders control DMX channels. Each fixture can utilize up to 16 channels, accessible via the PAGE buttons.
- Move the faders up or down to adjust the intensity or parameter value of the selected DMX channel.
- The display will show the current DMX value.
5.3 Pan and Tilt Control (Jogwheels)
- The two large jogwheels on the right are used for precise PAN and TILT control of moving head fixtures.
- Rotate the jogwheels to adjust the horizontal (Pan) and vertical (Tilt) movement of the selected fixture.
- The 16-bit resolution ensures smooth and accurate positioning.
5.4 Scene Programming
- Adjust the DMX channels using the faders and jogwheels to create your desired lighting look for a scene.
- Press the PROGRAM button to enter programming mode.
- Select an empty SCENES button (1-8) to store the scene.
- Press PROGRAM again to exit programming mode.
- To recall a scene, simply press the corresponding SCENES button.
5.5 Chase Programming
Chases are sequences of scenes. The ScanControl allows for programming and playback of chases.
- Enter programming mode by pressing the PROGRAM button.
- Select a BANK (A or B) using the BANK buttons.
- Press one of the CHASE buttons (1-6) to select a chase to program.
- Recall the scenes you wish to include in the chase in the desired order.
- Press the TAP SYNC button to store each step of the chase.
- Adjust FADE TIME and WAIT TIME using the dedicated faders to control the speed and transition of the chase.
- Press PROGRAM again to exit programming mode.
- To activate a chase, select the desired BANK and press the corresponding CHASE button.
