If either safety feature activates, unplug the heater, wait 10-15 minutes for it to cool down, and then plug it back in. Ensure the heater is on a stable surface before restarting.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your heater.
- Cleaning: Always unplug the heater from the wall outlet before cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces of the heater. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Do not immerse the heater in water.
- Dust Removal: Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove dust from the air intake and exhaust grilles. This should be done regularly to maintain optimal airflow.
- Storage: When not in use, store the heater in a cool, dry place. It is recommended to store it in its original packaging to protect it from dust and damage.
6. Troubleshooting
If your heater is not operating correctly, please refer to the following common issues and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Heater does not turn on. | No power to the unit, tip-over switch activated, or overheat protection activated. | Ensure the heater is plugged into a live 120V outlet. Check if the heater was tipped over; place it upright. Unplug and wait 10-15 minutes for cooling if it overheated. |
| Heater produces no heat. | Thermostat set too low, or heating elements are faulty. | Increase the thermostat setting. If still no heat, contact customer support. |
| Heater cycles on and off frequently. | Room temperature has reached the thermostat setting, or airflow is restricted. | This is normal operation if the room is warm enough. Ensure air intake/exhaust are not blocked. |
| Burning smell. | Dust accumulation on heating elements (common for first use), or foreign object inside. | Unplug and clean the heater. If the smell persists or is strong, discontinue use immediately and contact support. |
