6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the boom pole with a soft, dry cloth after each use to remove dust and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the boom pole in its collapsed state in a dry, clean environment, preferably in a protective bag, to prevent damage.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect the locking mechanisms and the internal XLR cable for any signs of wear or damage.
7. Troubleshooting
- Pole sections not locking securely: Ensure the twist-and-lock collars are fully tightened clockwise. Check for any debris obstructing the locking mechanism.
- No audio signal: Verify that the microphone is correctly connected to the internal XLR cable and that the external XLR cable is securely connected to the boom pole's female socket and your recording device. Check all audio settings on your recording equipment.
- Unwanted noise/rattling: Ensure all sections are tightly locked. If using an external microphone cable, secure it along the pole to prevent movement.
