5. Operating Instructions
The Intermatic IG2240-PK operates automatically to protect your home from power surges. There are no user controls or settings required after installation.
- LED Status Indicators: Each of the three IModules on the device is equipped with an LED indicator light.
- A GREEN LED indicates that the IModule is functioning correctly and providing surge protection.
- If an LED is OFF, it indicates that the corresponding IModule has absorbed a significant surge and needs replacement. The device will continue to provide protection through its remaining functional modules, but full protection capacity is reduced.
- Continuous Protection: The device continuously monitors incoming power for surge events and diverts excess voltage away from your home's electrical system.
6. Maintenance
The Intermatic IG2240-PK is designed for minimal maintenance. The primary maintenance task involves checking and replacing IModules as needed.
- Regular Inspection: Periodically check the LED status indicators on the IModules. It is recommended to check them at least once a month, or after any significant electrical storm or power outage.
- IModule Replacement: If an LED indicator is OFF, the corresponding IModule needs to be replaced.
- WARNING: Disconnect power to the surge protective device at the main service panel before attempting to replace any IModule.
- The IModules are designed for quick and easy replacement without needing to remove the entire SPD unit. Follow the specific instructions provided with replacement IModules for safe and proper installation.
- Ensure the replacement IModule is correctly seated and the LED illuminates GREEN upon power restoration.
