- Drill
- Drill bits (appropriate for wall type and anchor size)
- Stud finder (for wood stud walls)
- Level
- Pencil
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Wrench (if needed for bolts)
- Safety glasses
5.2. Wall Plate Installation
- Select Mounting Location: Choose a location on the wall where the TV will be centered and at the desired viewing height. Ensure there are no hidden electrical wires or plumbing.
- Mark Drill Holes: Hold the wall plate against the wall at the desired height. Use a level to ensure it is perfectly horizontal. Mark the drill hole locations with a pencil.
- Drill Holes: Drill pilot holes according to the marked locations and the type of wall (e.g., wood stud, concrete, brick). Use appropriate drill bits and anchors.
- Attach Wall Plate: Secure the wall plate to the wall using the provided screws and washers. Tighten all fasteners firmly, but do not overtighten.
5.3. Attaching TV Bracket Arms to TV
- Lay TV Face Down: Carefully place your TV face down on a soft, clean surface to prevent screen damage.
- Identify VESA Holes: Locate the four mounting holes on the back of your TV. These are the VESA mounting pattern.
- Select Screws and Spacers: Choose the correct diameter and length of screws from the hardware kit that fit your TV's VESA holes. Use spacers if the TV back is uneven or if cables need clearance.
- Attach Brackets: Align the TV bracket arms with the VESA holes. Ensure the hooks on the bracket arms are pointing upwards. Secure the bracket arms to the TV using the selected screws and washers. Tighten securely.
5.4. Mounting TV to Wall Plate
- Lift TV: With assistance, carefully lift the TV with the attached bracket arms.
- Hook onto Wall Plate: Hook the bracket arms onto the wall plate. Ensure the TV is securely seated on the wall plate.
- Secure TV: Locate the safety screws or locking mechanisms on the bottom of the TV bracket arms. Tighten these to prevent the TV from accidentally lifting off the wall plate.
6. Operation and Adjustments
The Stell SHO 2050 mount allows for various adjustments to optimize your viewing experience.
- Tilt Adjustment: Loosen the tilt adjustment knobs on the side of the TV bracket arms. Adjust the TV to the desired tilt angle (up to -12 degrees downward). Retighten the knobs to secure the position.
- Swivel Adjustment: Gently push or pull the TV to swivel it left or right (up to +/- 45 degrees). The mount's articulated arm allows for smooth movement.
- Level Correction: If the TV appears slightly unlevel after installation, gently rotate the TV to achieve a perfect horizontal alignment (up to +/- 2 degrees).
- Wall Distance Adjustment: Extend or retract the articulated arm to adjust the distance of the TV from the wall (7.0 - 43.0 cm).
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Clean the mount with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Periodic Checks: Periodically check all screws and fasteners to ensure they remain tight. Over time, vibrations or movement can cause them to loosen.
- Lubrication: The moving parts of the mount are designed for smooth operation and generally do not require lubrication. If movement becomes stiff, contact Stell support.
8. Troubleshooting
- TV is not level: Check the level correction adjustment. Ensure the wall plate was installed level.
- Mount feels loose: Re-check all wall mounting screws and TV bracket screws. Ensure they are tightened securely. Do not overtighten.
- Difficulty adjusting tilt/swivel: Ensure any locking knobs or screws are loosened before attempting to adjust.
- Missing parts: Do not proceed with installation. Contact Stell customer support for assistance.
