Setup
Powering the Clock
The OCT17 Wooden Alarm Clock can be powered via the included AC adapter and USB cable. For continuous display and full functionality, it is recommended to keep the clock plugged in. The clock also supports 4 AAA batteries (not included) for backup power, which helps retain time and settings during power outages. Note that battery-only operation may cause the display to turn off after a short period to conserve power, requiring sound activation to view.
- Connect the small end of the USB charging cable to the DC 5V port on the back of the clock.
- Connect the larger USB end of the cable to the AC adapter.
- Plug the AC adapter into a standard wall outlet.
- (Optional) For battery backup, open the battery compartment on the back and insert 4 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.

Initial Time and Date Setting
The clock features three control buttons on the back: SET, UP, and DOWN. These buttons are used for all settings.
- Press and hold the SET button for approximately 3 seconds to enter setting mode. The display will start flashing.
- Use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the value.
- Press SET again to confirm the current setting and move to the next parameter.
- The setting sequence typically includes: Year → Month → Day → 12/24 Hour Format → Hour → Minute → Alarm 1 (Hour, Minute, ON/OFF, Weekday/Everyday) → Alarm 2 → Alarm 3.
- After setting all parameters, the clock will automatically exit setting mode if no button is pressed for a few seconds, or you can press SET repeatedly until the normal display resumes.
Operating the Clock
Display Modes
The clock can display time, temperature, and humidity. It can also cycle through different display modes:
- DP-1 (Fixed Display): Shows time, temperature, and humidity continuously.
- DP-2 (Alternating Display): Alternates between time/humidity/temperature and year/date every few seconds.
To switch between display modes, short press the SET button.

Sound Control Function
The clock has a sound control feature that allows the display to turn off after 10 seconds of inactivity. To activate the display, make a sound (e.g., clap hands) or gently tap the clock. This feature is particularly useful when operating on battery power to conserve energy.
- To enable/disable sound control, refer to the specific instructions in the included user manual, as the exact button sequence may vary slightly. Typically, this involves a combination of pressing and holding the DOWN button or a specific sequence during setup.

Alarm Settings
The clock supports up to three independent alarms (AL1, AL2, AL3). During the initial setup process (holding SET), you will cycle through the alarm settings. For each alarm, you can set the hour, minute, and choose whether it is ON or OFF. Some models also allow setting alarms for weekdays only or every day.
- To turn an alarm ON/OFF outside of the main setup, locate the alarm switch on the back of the clock or use the ALARM button if available.
- The alarm sound is a beeping noise.
USB Charging Ports
The clock is equipped with two USB output ports (5V, 1A) on the back. These ports allow you to charge compatible smartphones (Android or Apple) simultaneously while the clock is powered.
Maintenance
- Clean the clock surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Avoid exposing the clock to direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, or high humidity.
- If using batteries, replace them when the display dims or functions become erratic. Remove batteries if the clock will not be used for an extended period.
