3. Setup Instructions

3.1 Receiver Setup

  1. Positioning: Place the receiver on a stable, flat surface, ensuring adequate ventilation. Keep it away from other wireless devices or sources of interference.
  2. Antenna Connection: Screw the two removable antennas onto the corresponding connectors on the rear of the receiver. Ensure they are securely tightened and positioned vertically for optimal signal reception.
  3. Power Connection: Connect the provided power supply to the DC IN 12-18V port on the rear of the receiver. Plug the power adapter into a suitable power outlet. Do not power on the unit yet.
  4. Audio Output Connection:
    • Balanced Output (XLR): For individual microphone channels, connect XLR cables from the "BALANCED 1" and "BALANCED 2" ports on the receiver to your mixer or audio interface. These outputs provide a line-level signal.
    • Mixed Output (1/4" Unbalanced): For a combined output of both microphone channels, connect the provided 1/4" cable from the "MIX OUT 1-2" port to your mixer or powered speaker. The volume for each channel can be adjusted using the front panel volume knobs. This output also provides a line-level signal.

3.2 Transmitter Setup (Handheld & Bodypack)

  1. Battery Installation: Open the battery compartment of each handheld microphone and bodypack transmitter. Insert two AA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-). It is recommended to use fresh, high-quality alkaline or rechargeable batteries for optimal performance and battery life.
  2. Bodypack Connections:
    • Headset Microphone: Connect the headset microphone cable to the input jack on the bodypack transmitter.
    • Instrument Cable: Alternatively, connect an instrument cable (e.g., for a guitar) to the input jack on the bodypack transmitter.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On and Initial Sync

  1. Power On Receiver: Press the POWER button on the front of the receiver. The display will illuminate.
  2. Power On Transmitters: Turn on each handheld microphone and bodypack transmitter.
  3. IR Sync (One-Touch):
    • Ensure the receiver and the desired transmitter (handheld or bodypack) are powered on.
    • Locate the IR sensor on both the receiver (labeled "IR") and the transmitter.
    • Align the IR sensors of the receiver and the transmitter within a few inches of each other.
    • Press the "IR" button on the receiver for the corresponding channel (CH 1 or CH 2). The receiver will send frequency information to the transmitter.
    • The transmitter will automatically sync to the receiver's frequency. The RF indicator on the receiver should light up, indicating a successful connection.

4.2 Channel Selection

The DIGITAL32-ULTRA system offers 10 PLL frequencies per channel to avoid interference. If you experience interference or are using multiple systems, you can change the operating frequency:

  1. On the receiver, press the "CH +" or "CH -" buttons for the desired channel (1 or 2) to cycle through available frequencies.
  2. Once a new frequency is selected on the receiver, perform the IR Sync procedure (Section 4.1) again to synchronize the corresponding transmitter to the new frequency.
  3. Up to 9 DIGITAL32-ULTRA systems can be used simultaneously by ensuring each system operates on a unique, non-interfering frequency pair.

4.3 Volume Adjustment

Adjust the output volume for each channel using the "VOLUME +" and "VOLUME -" knobs on the front panel of the receiver. These controls affect the output level for both the balanced XLR outputs and the mixed 1/4" output.

4.4 Using Handheld Microphones

Hold the handheld microphone approximately 2-6 inches from your mouth for optimal vocal pickup. Ensure the microphone is pointed towards the sound source.

4.5 Using Bodypack Transmitters (Headset/Instrument)

Attach the bodypack transmitter to your belt or clothing using the integrated belt clip. Connect either the headset microphone or the instrument cable to the bodypack's input. Position the headset microphone boom approximately 1 inch from the corner of your mouth for clear vocal transmission.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the receiver and transmitters. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in handheld microphones and bodypack transmitters regularly. Low battery indicators will typically appear on the transmitters. It is advisable to carry spare batteries, especially for extended use, as battery life can vary.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the system in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries from transmitters if storing for long periods to prevent leakage.
  • Antenna Care: Handle antennas carefully to avoid bending or breaking. Ensure they are securely attached during operation.
