4.2 Battery Connection
The UPS ships with the internal batteries disconnected for safety during transit. Refer to the specific instructions on the unit or in the quick start guide for connecting the internal battery pack. Typically, this involves pulling out the battery tray, rotating the battery, and pushing it back in until it clicks into place.
4.3 Connecting to Power and Devices
- Connect the UPS input power cord (NEMA 5-20P) to a dedicated electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet provides the correct voltage (120V).
- Allow the UPS to charge for at least 24 hours before connecting critical equipment to ensure full battery capacity.
- Connect your equipment to the UPS output receptacles. The SMT2200RM2UC features (6) NEMA 5-15R and (2) NEMA 5-20R outlets. One group of outlets is switchable for remote power cycling.
- For remote monitoring and management, connect an Ethernet cable from the SmartConnect port on the UPS to your network. Connect the USB or Serial cable to a computer for PowerChute software integration.
