1. Introduction

2. Safety Information

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Slide or unclip the cover to open the compartment.
  3. Insert the required batteries (typically 9V or AAA, refer to compartment markings) ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover securely.

4.2 Powering On/Off

  • To power on the device, press the POWER button. The LCD will illuminate.
  • The device will automatically power off after approximately 30 seconds of inactivity to save battery.
  • To manually power off, press and hold the POWER button for a few seconds.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Selecting Material Mode

The ET-928 can measure moisture in different material groups. Press the MODE button to cycle through the available material modes (e.g., Wood, Building Materials). Ensure the correct mode is selected for accurate readings.

5.2 Taking a Moisture Reading

  1. Power on the device.
  2. Select the appropriate material mode using the MODE button.
  3. Carefully push the two electrodes into the material to be measured. Ensure both electrodes penetrate the surface adequately and are fully inserted.
  4. Read the moisture content percentage displayed on the LCD screen.
  5. Remove the electrodes from the material after taking the reading.

5.3 Taking a Temperature Reading

The device also displays ambient temperature. This reading is typically shown alongside the moisture reading or can be accessed via a dedicated temperature mode if available (refer to specific button labels on your device). The temperature range is 0°C to 50°C (32°F to 122°F).

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the electrodes are clean and free of debris after each use.

6.2 Electrode Replacement

The electrodes are replaceable. If they become dull or damaged, they can be unscrewed and replaced with new ones. Refer to the manufacturer's guidelines for purchasing replacement electrodes.

6.3 Storage

Store the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for an extended period, remove the batteries.
