Setup and Installation
1. Mounting the Fan
The Hunter fan features an Installer's Choice three-position mounting system, allowing for standard, low, or angled mounting. Choose the appropriate downrod (3-inch or 2-inch) based on your ceiling height and desired blade clearance.
- Turn off power at the circuit breaker.
- Secure the mounting bracket to the ceiling junction box. Ensure the junction box is securely fastened to the building structure and can support the fan's weight.
- Assemble the downrod to the motor housing, feeding the electrical wires through the downrod.
- Carefully lift the fan assembly and hang it from the mounting bracket using the provided hook or ball-and-socket system.

2. Wiring Connections
Follow all local and national electrical codes. If you are unsure about wiring, consult a qualified electrician.
- Connect the fan's electrical wires to the household wiring using the provided wire nuts. Typically, this involves connecting the black fan wire to the black household wire (hot), the white fan wire to the white household wire (neutral), and the green/bare copper fan wire to the green/bare copper household wire (ground).
- Carefully tuck all wires into the junction box.
3. Attaching Blades and Light Kit
- Attach each fan blade to a blade bracket using the provided screws. Ensure they are securely fastened.
- Attach the blade brackets to the motor housing.
- Connect the light kit wiring to the fan motor wiring as per the instructions.
- Install the two 6.5W LED bulbs into the light kit sockets.
- Secure the painted cased white glass bowl to the light kit assembly.

Operating Instructions
Your Hunter ceiling fan is operated using two pull chains.
- Fan Speed Control: One pull chain controls the fan speed. Pull the chain repeatedly to cycle through high, medium, low, and off settings.
- Light Control: The other pull chain controls the light. Pull the chain to turn the light on or off. The included LED bulbs are dimmable, which may require a compatible wall dimmer switch (not included) for dimming functionality, or the pull chain may offer multiple brightness levels depending on the specific light kit design.
- Reversible Motor: A slide switch on the motor housing allows you to reverse the direction of the fan blades. In warm weather, operate the fan counter-clockwise to create a downdraft for a cooling effect. In cool weather, operate the fan clockwise at a low speed to create an updraft, circulating warm air near the ceiling without creating a direct draft.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Clean the fan's exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish.
- Blade Care: Periodically check blade screws for tightness. Loose blades can cause wobbling and noise.
- Light Bulbs: Replace LED bulbs only with bulbs of the same type and wattage (6.5W dimmable LED). Ensure power is off before replacing bulbs.
- Annual Check: Annually inspect all connections and mounting hardware to ensure they remain secure.
Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your fan, consult the following table before contacting support.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Fan does not start | No power to the fan; Loose wire connections; Motor malfunction. | Check circuit breaker and wall switch. Verify all wire connections are secure. If problem persists, consult an electrician. |
| Fan wobbles | Loose blade screws; Unbalanced blades; Loose mounting bracket. | Tighten all blade screws. Ensure blades are balanced (balancing kit may be needed). Verify mounting bracket is securely installed. |
| Light does not work | Loose bulb; Faulty bulb; Loose wire connection to light kit. | Ensure bulbs are screwed in tightly. Replace bulbs if necessary. Check light kit wiring connections. |
| Noisy operation | Loose screws; Motor hum; Blades hitting an obstruction. | Check and tighten all screws. Ensure no wires are rubbing against the motor housing. Verify blades are not hitting anything. |
