4. Setup and Installation

This product is designed for DIY installation, but electrical connections should be made by a qualified professional.

4.2 Installation Steps

  1. Disconnect Power: Turn off power at the main circuit breaker before starting any electrical work.
  2. Prepare Opening: Using the provided cut-out template, mark and cut a Ø290mm hole in the ceiling.
  3. Position Fan: Insert the fan unit into the prepared ceiling opening. Ensure it is securely seated. The maximum height of the unit is 154mm, with 128mm above the ceiling.
  4. Electrical Connection: Connect the fan's cord to the main power supply. This step must be performed by a qualified electrician. Ensure all connections are secure and properly insulated.
  5. Secure Unit: Use appropriate fasteners (not supplied) to secure the fan housing to the ceiling joists or framing.
  6. Attach Grille: Once the fan is securely installed and wired, attach the removable grille by aligning it with the fan housing and snapping it into place.
  7. Restore Power: Once installation is complete and all connections are checked, restore power at the main circuit breaker.

The Heller exhaust fan is designed for simple operation.

6. Maintenance

Regular cleaning will ensure optimal performance and longevity of your exhaust fan.

6.1 Cleaning the Grille and Fan Blades

  1. Disconnect Power: Always turn off power to the fan at the circuit breaker before cleaning.
  2. Remove Grille: Gently pull down or unclip the removable grille from the fan housing.
  3. Clean Grille: Wash the grille with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to dry completely before reattaching.
  4. Clean Fan Blades: Carefully wipe the fan blades and interior housing with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure no water enters the motor housing.
  5. Reattach Grille: Once clean and dry, reattach the grille to the fan housing.
  6. Restore Power: Restore power at the circuit breaker.

Note: The motor is a ball bearing type and does not require lubrication. The LED light is not user-serviceable.
