1.3 Powering On and Pre-heating

  1. Plug the machine into a grounded electrical outlet.
  2. Press the power button to turn on the machine. The indicator light will illuminate.
  3. Allow the machine to pre-heat until the indicator light signals it is ready (refer to your machine's specific light indicators for readiness).

2. Operating

2.1 Preparing Espresso

  1. Grinding and Tamping Coffee: Use finely ground espresso coffee. Fill the appropriate filter basket (for one or two shots) with ground coffee. Use the provided tamper to gently press the coffee grounds evenly.
  2. Inserting the Portafilter: Attach the portafilter to the brew head by aligning it and twisting firmly to the right until secure.
  3. Placing Cups: Place one or two espresso cups on the drip tray directly under the portafilter spouts.
  4. Brewing Espresso: Turn the control knob to the 'Brew' position (usually indicated by a coffee cup icon). Allow the espresso to brew for approximately 18-25 seconds for a double shot. Turn the control knob back to the 'Standby' position to stop brewing.

2.2 Frothing Milk

  1. Prepare Milk: Fill a frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy).
  2. Activate Steam: Turn the control knob to the 'Steam' position (usually indicated by a steam icon). Wait for the machine to reach steaming temperature.
  3. Purge Steam Wand: Briefly open the steam valve to release any condensed water from the steam wand. Close the valve.
  4. Froth Milk: Immerse the steam wand tip just below the surface of the milk. Open the steam valve fully. Move the pitcher up and down to create foam. Once desired foam is achieved and milk is heated, close the steam valve and remove the pitcher.

3. Maintenance

3.1 Cleaning the Portafilter

After each use, remove the portafilter from the brew head. Discard the used coffee grounds. Rinse the portafilter and filter basket under running water. Ensure all coffee residue is removed. The video demonstrates tapping out the used grounds and rinsing.

3.2 Cleaning the Steam Wand

Immediately after frothing milk, wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to remove any milk residue. Briefly open the steam valve again to clear any milk from inside the wand. This prevents blockages.

3.3 Emptying the Drip Tray

The drip tray is removable for easy cleaning. Periodically remove and empty the drip tray to prevent overflow. Wash with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
