5. Setup
5.1. Battery Installation
The device requires two CR2032 3V batteries for operation. Ensure correct polarity when inserting the batteries into the battery compartment.
5.2. Initial Configuration (Windows OS Only)
The data logger includes built-in software for configuration and report generation. No external driver installation is required.
- Connect the data logger to a USB port on a computer running Windows OS. The device does not support Mac OS.
- The computer will recognize the device as a USB drive. Open the drive to access the built-in software.
- Run the configuration tool (e.g., 'PDF Logger Configuration Tool.exe').
- Within the software, you can customize settings such as:
- Sampling interval (how often data is recorded)
- Alarm ranges for temperature, humidity, and pressure
- Measurement units (°C/°F, hPa/inHg)
- Start delay
- Password protection
- Save your desired settings to the device.

6. Operation
6.1. Starting and Stopping Recording
- To start recording, press and hold the START/STOP button until the LED indicator flashes, confirming recording has begun.
- To stop recording, press and hold the START/STOP button again until the LED indicator confirms recording has ceased.
6.2. Using the Mark Function
During active recording, press the MARK button to insert a marker into the data log. This is useful for noting specific events or changes in the environment without interrupting the recording process.
6.3. Viewing Data on LCD
The LCD display cycles through temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure readings every 5 seconds. Press the MAX/MIN button to view the maximum and minimum recorded values for each parameter.
6.4. Data Retrieval and Report Generation
- After recording is complete, connect the data logger to a Windows computer via USB.
- The device will automatically generate a PDF report and a CSV data file.
- Locate these files on the USB drive. The PDF report provides a graphical overview, while the CSV file contains raw data for detailed analysis.
- An Adobe Reader is required to open the PDF report.

7. Maintenance
7.1. Cleaning
To maintain optimal performance and longevity of the device, clean its exterior regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the casing or electronic components. Ensure the USB port is free from dust and debris.
7.2. Battery Replacement
When the battery indicator on the LCD shows low power, replace both CR2032 3V batteries promptly to ensure continuous and accurate data logging.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Device does not power on or start recording. | Low or depleted batteries; device malfunction. | Replace batteries with new CR2032 3V cells. If the issue persists, contact customer support. |
| Barometric pressure readings appear inaccurate or do not change. | Environmental factors; sensor obstruction; device malfunction. | Ensure the device is placed in an open area away from direct airflow or enclosed spaces. Verify the sensor vents are not obstructed. Compare readings with a known accurate local weather source. If significant discrepancies persist, contact customer support. |
| Data loss or corrupted reports. | Improper shutdown; battery failure during recording; software error. | Always ensure recording is properly stopped before disconnecting from power or changing batteries. Regularly back up data. Ensure your computer's USB port is stable. If data loss occurs frequently, the device may be faulty. |
| Cannot open PDF reports. | Missing PDF reader software. | Install a PDF reader application (e.g., Adobe Reader) on your computer. |
| Device not recognized by computer. | Incorrect OS; faulty USB port; device malfunction. | Ensure you are using a Windows OS computer. Try a different USB port. Restart your computer. If the problem persists, the device may require service. |
